The Decider, April 8, 2002, on keeping the crustacean terrorists off the sacred soil of the homeland.
"We call it terrorism information program, it's a TIP program. This is a program where truckers can report anything that might be suspicious to local authorities. One of the most innovative TIP programs in the country took place in Maine. Governor King, working with the local FBI, signed up a lot of lobstermen. So when they're out there pulling their pots to get the lobsters, if they see something suspicious taking place along the Maine coast, that they share information with the local jurisdictions, local law enforcement jurisdictions. If people see anything suspicious, utility workers, you ought to report it."
And this one from an October 11, 2001 Commander Guy press conference:
Q: You talk about the general threat toward Americans. You know, the Internet is crowded with all sorts of rumor and gossip and, kind of, urban myths. And people ask, what is it they're supposed to be on the lookout for? Other than the 22 most wanted terrorists, what are Americans supposed to look for and report to the police or to the FBI?
A: Well, Ann, you know, if you find a person that you've never seen before getting in a crop duster that doesn't belong to you -- report it. If you see suspicious people lurking around petrochemical plants, report it to law enforcement.
As always, you just can't make this shit up.
