3. He has been operating out of pre conceived paradigms for a while now.

With the unpredictability of the election season as this moment in time, I am ruling nothing out.

However, I'm operating with a pragmatic view, and expect that one of the current contenders will be our candidate in the G.E.

He could probably have entered and made a good run if at any point if he'd jumped in and campaigned prior to the Iowa Caucus and NH Primary, but it's just not going to happen now.

As to the future, I think the outcome of the November 2008 election will shape Gore's future political plans. Right now, he's doing what he feels the world needs most from him, IMO. Whether we agree or not is, frankly, irrelevant. We have no claim on the man.

I am very happy for Mr. Gore and his recent accomplishments.

I respect he realized his real passion is environmental protection and activism and not being POTUS. I wouldn't want to run for POTUS in 2008 either knowing the state of the US right now.

When he was in politics, as Senator, and later as Vice President and Presidential candidate, he had to do too many favors for too many special interests, and he wasn't free to act according to his conscience.

Sure he doesn't have the political power as private citizen, but as environmental activist, he doesn't have to owe favors to anyone - he's free.

My Air America affiliate was playing some best of Randi Rhoades last night and she was playing clips from his Jan 2006 speech. It was so powerful. Of course we want him to be president. But he can speak more freely out of office, and the world will listen. He has the world's respect and the world's ear. I trust his decision on this.

Don't get me wrong; I'd support a Gore candidacy 100%, but he ain't running so it's well past time to stop wishing. When he said that he wasn't running ("has no plans" if you prefer) I figured that he was telling the truth about his intentions.

Assuming there's no candidate with enough delegates. And this might well be the best outcome for this party and this country, however unlikely it seems with a deliberately front loaded primary.

Funny that the Democratic party started going down hill around the same time we started messing with the process of choosing a candidate.


A gridlocked convention with Gore emerging as the nominee would be the storybook ending to this decade long nightmare.
