Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid get the credit they deserve
http://buffalobeast.com/122/50mostloathsome2007.html

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid

Charges: Graduates of the Neville Chamberlain school of appeasement, the Democratic leadership continues to ignore the constitution-and the American people-by keeping impeachment "off the table" and refusing to defund the war. True pushovers, they're too stupid, cowardly, weak and outmatched politically to accomplish anything substantive, their "strategy" essentially boiling down to whining a lot while handing Bush whatever the hell he wants. There is just no way that appearing this weak and ineffectual could be any better for them politically than impeachment. Everything that the White House gets away with, it gets away with because congress allows it.

Exhibit A: Failure to woo the two thirds majority needed to override a presidential veto is moot: They could defund the war with a 41-senator budgetary filibuster. But that would take guts and conviction.

Sentence: 2 cups anthrax bisque.

"Peace in our time."

"Impeachment is off the table."

1. So I take it you will be voting Republican?
Who you going to vote for.. They have us over a barrel and they damn well know it and even laugh over it. I am to the point of not bothering to vote at all because at this stage it just plain doesn't matter...

Is there some rule here that requires this infantile reply
every time someone points out the blatantly obvious failures
of our leadership?

Have you read the original source? It's very funny and
only the very worst "Democrats" get hillaried, err,
pilloried. By far, the largest part of the list are
Republicans and "the famous for being famous" types.

a rule - any time the blatantly obvious and inexcuseable failures of our pantywaist, spineless leadership are pointed out.

If we can't ADMIT we have problems with our leadership and would rather IGNORE them out of loyalty, then those problems will never get FIXED.

Speaking of IGNORING problems with leadership out of loyalty, THAT is the entire issue here, isn't it? WHY should we perpetuate the problem by doing it OURSELVES? I don't think we should. Doh.

(putting on flamesuit NOW).

PeeEss: Nancy Marie Antionette Pelosi and Reid are Pathetic. Flame away.

17. You vote Democratic in 2008 if for nothing else then the Supreme Court
Contrary to some who believe the supreme court is already lost, the truth is it is hanging on by a thread

However, if a republican gets in there is no doubt that they will appoint federalist judges in the mold of scalia and thomas, and issues from roe v wade, a persons right to privacy, civil rights, due process, and so many other things that took years to acheive will be reversed in the blink of an eye

To cite just one example from robert bork, king of the federalist society, he argued that a public barber shop should have the right to refuse to give a haircut to an African American if they desire, and it only gets worse from there

The Democrats have many faults, but there is NOT one Democrat running for President, who will nominate judges like scalia and thomas, however EVERY republican running for President has said they will

4. the corporate media is destroying them NOW. Impeachment will save them
because not even the corporate media can hid the truth when 6 years of facts, truths, lies, deceptions get documented UNDER OATH.

What a whimpy no good illogical reason to say impeachment wouldnt' work.

It's the victim mentality. "I can't do xyz cuz then he'll beat me."

.."Well, he's beating you already."

"Yeh. but he'll beat me if I leave him."

~~ Sorry but those people need serious therapy and they need to IMPEACH as if their life depends on it--the same way an abused spouce needs to file charges against an abusive husband and leave him.

FILE THE CHARGES! IMPEACH

30. It's time to restore the rule of law and some oversight to the FCC...
Too few people control the MSM and it NEVER should have been allowed to happen. If anything, I believe the MSM is afraid of losing their monopoly status through re-regulation of the media and if there was ever a case for increased regulation, this is it.

think that they are:

I do believe that they are very complicit in much of the reported misdeeds done in Iraq by this admin as well as some backroom wheeling and dealing not particularly beneficial to Dem's. Therefore they do not have the will to expose themselves to the level of scrutiny all that deserves. I could be way wrong, but regardless, I agree there is something glaringly wrong with their leadership.

9. It's a joke, referring to one of the alleged ways that Democrats are controlled.
As you'll recall, in the great Anthrax scare of 200x,
the only people to receive anthrax-by-mail were Democrats
and a newspaper that was a thorn in Bush's side. And the
perpetrator has never been found...

However crappy their results and whatever I may think of these useless representatives, even joking threats of this nature is in poor taste.

Particularly since they still haven't caught those responsible for the attacks against Leahy.

16. I am # 9 ... you are too.
I like Reid for keeping the senate open over breaks so bush can not
force through anymore shitty "John Bolton Types," but the evidence
against bush & Cheney is massive and we need the rule of law back.

Make the repugs defend the indefensible;
lying to start a war
failure to do anything after the 50+ warnings about 9/11
NSA/FISA
Plame
The California black outs & Enron
Abramoff / Kick Backs / Bribes / Corruption
The Dept of Justice as a political wing of the bush / Cheney mafia
stolen elections Florida 2000, Ohio 2004, Don Siegleman, & Max Cleland.

Letting bush / Cheney walk away is like letting a bank robber leave because
he is just about out of the bank.

19. Yep
It's kind of the flipside to TIME's choosing "YOU" as person of the year last year. Plus the added irony that in order to avoid choosing Al Gore this year, TIME chose a man that's almost as heinous as GWB.

We buy this crap. They tell us what to think and we think it. They tell us what to buy and we buy it. They tell us what to believe and we believe it. It's like the DEVO song:

Freedom From Choice
Is what you want

But "talking heads" and some writers will spin about
how "micro targeting" got out their base who were worried
about "values." Hell, even though they don't vote (rarely)
and are very anti war the Amish turned out to vote for bush ...
or so they say but when we wanted to look @ the ballots they
had all been destroyed (Holmes County) because a coffee maker
fell on them.

And yet the Media will not touch it. I know because I live in Ohio
and worked the election in Columbus. Reid, Pelosi, Clinton,
Kerry, all the score too. Either lead or get the hell out of
the way ..... and that includes Steny Hoyer too.

If we can have a real bottom up movement to force our our
leadership to follow the rule of law the media would have to cover
it. But do not expect them to take the lead.

There are other iable alternatives, *ESPECIALLY* at the
Congressional level where we don't have an Electoral College
obstructing true representative democracy.

Bernie Sanders, Joe Lieberman, and (to some degree) Ron
Paul are the obvious proof-points that folks can be elected
who are neither (R) no (D).
