When Gore promised to be environmentally active as VP, he disappointed me. He did little. Now he wants change?

Vice Presidents only had as much power as the President would allow.

When Al Gore lobbied the Congress regarding Kyoto, only one Senator would commit to support that treaty, furthermore I also believe Bill Clinton's support regarding global warming was lukewarm at best.

I would also suggest looking at the disparity of media reporting of Global Warming as compared to peer reviewed science on this issue.

I believe this was because the media didn't want Al Gore as President for primarily two reasons, the first being his championing of the Internet, thus threatening their monopoly of information and the second because they knew he would be a strong advocate of change regarding our energy and environmental policy and the Global Warming issue played to his strength.

They wanted a corporate puppet such as Bush and they got him.

Al Gore was of the mind that a Vice-President's duty was to support the President's agenda in order to insure a successful administration and increase the chances of being elected him self where he could lead the way on Global Warming, among other issues. Furthermore Clinton was already weakened by ongoing scandal and continuous investigation by a Republican controlled Congress. I believe Al Gore felt the need to defend Clinton when he could and to slam him on this issue would only hurt his own chances of being able to do something more aggressive and constructive about it as a President.

In conclusion as I mentioned, historically speaking, a Vice-President has limited influence especially with a monopolized corporate media intent on either ignoring or trashing that individual, and I believe the media came to resent Al Gore as the Internet gained in influence thereby sapping some of their own power, I call this the Prometheus Effect. Al Gore was the most visible political champion of opening up the Internet for the people and when he rightfully spoke of his legislative accomplishments or record with Wolf Blitzer as any job applicant would do when competing for the most powerful position in the land, they slandered, libeled and trashed him for it.

My oh my, my brothers and sisters would never believe my tale, especially since it transpired before afternoon tea!

My best friend and I just wanted to go fishing.

I really had to persuade her to cut loose and have some fun, but her husband was the oppressive type. Well, she snuck away with me anyway, leaving a microwave dinner for him. She looked like she was having fun. We went line-dancing and this sleaze came over and started getting a little possessive. I came out of the ladies' to find that he was trying to force himself on her. Next thing you know, "BLAM!", I shot him.

We had to hit the road. I had my wonderful boyfriend wire us some money. We picked up a gorgeous hitch-hiker who turned out to have the hots for my best friend. She let him stay with her, and he disappeared with all our money! I blamed myself, not her. Later, she had to hold up a gas station at gunpoint, but she was really polite about it. Unfortunately, they had the whole thing on tape.

At one point, we had 30 cop cars chasing us across the desert, and we outran them. We stopped wearing makeup. We kept meeting up with this rude fellow, and we were forced to blow up his truck and steal his hat.

It was all downhill from there....
