Poll question: Which Dem. candidate will be honest/brave enough to talk about pakistan
and the problems that Team Bush caused there? And how our policies led to the death of Bhutto, and potentially to World War III? And who will offer a realistic solution to that growing cluster ****?

I can see Kucinich, Edwards, and Biden talking straight. Not sure about the others.

This isn't one they're going to skip, and it's pretty straightforward.

5. I doubt that. Hillary's advisors
will be afraid of risking the wrath of conservative MSM sources, by criticizing Bush's policies. They won't let her talk, and they won't really realize which policies are worthy of criticism.

That part is easy. Bush congratulated Musharif on his military take over as governor or Texas. The following month, he invited the Taliban in for a visit and negotiations about an oil pipe line.

Bush has been suppporting Musharif for 7 yrs, and has paid him billions a year in bribes. There is a lot to criticize, and there is little that Hillary will say. Besides, her handlers and spinners are domestic people, not foreign affairs experts. In fact, I see her supporting Bush and a continuation of his stupid policies.

in fact, I don't recall any of the other candidates talking about Pakistan at all.

8. That's one of the things that really impressed me about him. My husband is from India
and so I've been more than a little aware of what's going on over there. Right now, we desperately need a proactive foreign policy and so far, Biden has been the only candidate to speak about what I consider the most important issue--foreign policy.

I'm not happy about some of his votes and decisions (as I feel about all of them) but foreign policy is my number one issue right now, and he not only speaks with knowledge and experience--he's also willing to try to push it into the national dialog.

I like that a LOT.

9. another thing about Biden, he will speak truth to power, war, and bullshit
he will talk directly to this issue and the potential for WWIII. And he will be attacked for doing so by MSM and other dems.

whereas, Rudi will claim that this is his area of experience and expertise and therefore he should be president.

that asshole.

10. Yeah, I have friends from India....
and they consider Pakistan crazy....but Joe's right, we need a Pakistan policy for the PEOPLE, not Musharraf, as it has been with Bush & Co.

A New Approach to Pakistan

It is time for a new approach. We’ve got to move from a transactional relationship -- the exchange of aid for services -- to the normal, functional relationship we enjoy with all of our other military allies and friendly nations. We’ve got to move from a policy concentrated on one man – President Musharraf – to a policy centered on an entire people… the people of Pakistan.

15. I like that he addresses the actual issues
Not blurbs or sound bites. Not easy quotes like " bring them home now". He speaks with wisdom about the realities of the situations and what needs to be done to turn things around, even if it is not what people want to hear.

I don't want flash or drama. I want Wisdom.

Compare and contrast bush/Rice on any foreign issue, and it makes me sick.

Compare and contrast Hillary with Biden on any foreign issue, and I am sad to say that nausea returns.

Suppose he caught on when Biden was involved in the earlier Pakistan situation before he was? He should have had a red face on that deal.

Go, Joe! Show them how it's done!

i don`t doubt there was a pool at the cia on how long it was before she was killed. instead of enjoying her retirement she decided to force her way back into the family and they killed her. there is just so much to go around and she wanted more than they were willing to give her.

I didn't see any attempt to leverage his 9/10/01 "attack in the belly of a plane" statement, or push it any further, afterwards. Maybe I missed it!But knowing Biden, he'll just keep on speaking out warnings about the possibilities he thinks can happen and pray that he's wrong, like an attack in a New York subway.

Allow me to suggest:

Which Democratic candidate will try to leverage this tragic event into an empty, meaningless political claim that his or her policies would have prevented it from happening?

33. Biden. He's been warning us about the situation in Pakistan for months -even
before Musharraf declared martial law. It didn't appear to be on anybody else's radar. He told it like it is then -- even though it wasn't a "hot topic" and he'll continue to do so. That's Biden and that's one of the reasons I want him for my President.
