1. I agree. This event will most likely propel Pakistan into civil war
which, unless it can be averted, will create a very dangerous situation for India, and the world

8. Also today - 4 Sharif Aides Killed, 12 Hurt in Pakistan Gunfire
It may have already started. :(

Dec. 27 (Bloomberg) -- At least four supporters of Pakistan's former premier Nawaz Sharif were killed and another 12 wounded in the capital, Islamabad, when gunshots were fired on an election rally.

People ``fired on our workers who were gathering for an election public rally,'' Siddique-ul-Farooq, a spokesman for Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, said in a phone interview today. Farooq said supporters of Nawaz Khokar, a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-i-Azam, the party backed by President Pervez Musharraf, fired at the rally.

2. Thank you for being a voice of reason.
She was the Western candidate and as such had significant opposition among the radical hate mongers in Pakistan.

4. 100% pro west doesn't mean
100% pro Bush or pro Bush's wars.

just sayin'... I don't think Bushco was behind this ... but I don't find her being pro west a compelling reason to eliminate them from the possibles list.

7. Right.
This is evidence that people can not maintain control of violence, rather than "proof" that Bush is responsible for every bad thing.

9. Yea, that is why John Captain Kangaroo Bolton said the US should back the dictator Musharraf
Edited on Thu Dec-27-07 10:46 AM by NNN0LHI
How many times has anyone in the corporate owned media actually mentioned the Bhutto was the real elected leader of Pakistan before Musharraf removed her by military coup? Not very often.

I ain't buying what you are selling friend.

10. She was being trained to be the successor of musharraf. To keep the
appearance of "democracy" Musharraf would have to step out at some point, and be replaced by another pupet.

12. But you must remember that there are no "pure" factions in Pak
There are elements of every ideology embedded in every part of the government. My feeling is that while MushMouth may not have ordered the hit, elements within the security and intel forces did.

14. BushCo didn't do it - but their policies definitely helped contribute towards this
They made Pakistan far more unstable through this mis-guided "war on terror" and their support of Musharraf.

15. Disagree. She also believed in democracy and was about to stand up against election fraud.
Further, however "pro-West" she was, and it is important to remember that being pro-Democracy makes her the Bushies' Greatest Enemy, not their friend, Bhutto was not bought and paid-for the way Bushharraf is.

No, she represented a threat to Busharraf and therefore to the Bushies.

Further, she might have actually TRIED to catch Bushfriend Osama Bin Laden, and I cannot imagine a prospect more terrifying to the Bushies than having their old friend Bin Laden spill about his July 2001 Dubai meeting with his CIA contacts, which could easily be verified and which even the toadying MSM could not ignore under those conditions.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/waronterror/story/0,1361,584444,00.html

Gosh, what do you think they were talking about at that meeting? Oh, to be a fly on the wall...

For that reason alone, the Bushies would have had reason to have Bhutto dead and keep their Bushie Vassal in place.

18. Yes, and...
perhaps she would have had the now retired head of Pakistan's ISI (created by the CIA) General Ahmed arrested for wiring Atta $100 grand just weeks before 911.
