now its anti-Edwards, suddenly, amazingly, as the polls shift.

That's the problem with negative campaigns in a primary. you can expend all your negative capital on the wrong person, and when you keep adding targets, the general population starts to see you're just being negative to win, instead of negative with a valid concern.
