1. I am really starting to see Obama as someone who...
...is NOT my President.

I cherish the promise of his wife:

http://www.politicalwrinkles.com/politics/1711-obama-my-wife-says-now-never.html

Obama: My wife says "now or never"

WILLIAMSBURG, Iowa (CNN) — Barack Obama told an Iowa audience Friday that his wife Michelle thinks he should not run for President again if he loses in 2008. “One of the things I offer in this race is that we still remember what it means to be normal," said the Illinois senator. "My wife and I were talking the other day. And she said 'We're not doing this again'. And those of you who met her know she doesn't mince words,” said Obama. “She meant that in eight years, I'm not sure we'll be the same people we are now."

He said that he and his wife had only recently finished paying off their own student loans and started saving for their kids' college education. He also said that, until recently, he would do the family's grocery shopping himself. He said Michele told him, "eight years from now we will have lost touch with what ordinary Americans are going through" and that "we'll be in a different orbit."

"I think when you're in Washington for a long time you lose touch" and "it becomes harder to relinquish power,” he added. But he told the audience in this blue-collar town, "my wife still shops at Target." In the new issue of Vanity Fair, Michelle Obama tells a reporter that when it comes to her husband's White House bid, “it’s now or never.”

13. I hope that if he doesn't win in 2008 he WILL run again. He's got so much to
offer us. Like many others, during such a critical time in our history, I feel he doesn't have the chops yet. But I really think he would be an exceptional president a few years down the road.

26. The way he's been going, he might find himself a one term Senator
Edited on Tue Jan-01-08 09:43 AM by depakid
He's basically used his Senate seat as a stepping stone for a presidential run, and neglected his duties to his constituents. Not sure how Illinoians (sp?) will react to that.

7. He Hasn't Endoresed
I haven't seen any post of his supporting any candidate...if anything, he's tried to keep his opinions out of it. I've read Markos for years and I couldn't tell you which candidate he supports.

10. He did, a couple of weeks ago:

Markos, Obama. Obama, Markos
Written by rschallon on Dec-17-07 2:56pm

Markos, the birthing mother of Daily Kos, explains his rationale for abandoning support for Edwards and eloping with Obama:

I voted "Obama" this time, not necessarily because I support him, but because the alternatives are no good. Hillary? Yeah right. Edwards? If he hadn't taken public financing, I'd probably go for him (and who doesn't have a crush on Elizabeth?). But I refuse to vote for a guy who will be broke for about seven months in 2008 while the other side beats the crap out of him. I know his partisans have convinced themselves that this doesn't just not matter, but that it's a good thing! Good for them, I guess.

30. He's more toward Dodd.....
I just scrolled through his diaries on Kos and didn't find it, probably didn't go back far enough but I remember him writing a glowing piece on him. AdamB - rabid Obama supporter, is Markos lawyer and he has written a few hit pieces. Go figure..

pretty damning. By the way look at more than that particular bit, lots of good stuff (no not anti-Obama) on the Kos site today.

5. Maybe Obama should give Kos a handjob.
He seems perfectly happy to kiss up to politicians who embrace his nitwittery, provided they jerk him off.

24. Don't tell Donnie!
Keep talking like that and Obama will send you to Exodus camp so Donnie can pray those thoughts of man on man action right out of your soul. Donnie and Barack would say you are demonized-not the same as possesed but similar-as are all who think such sin filled thoughts.
A good Obama Religionist should know better than to use such imagery. Dobson and McClurkin would not approve, and that means Obama does not approve. I think you need to come to the alter call and let Donnie lay hands on you! Let him sing the Obama theme song, which used to be the Bush theme song two years ago when Donnie was Bush's go to gay hater. So sing a chorus of 'Stand' and say the Lord's Prayer, send a check for $500 to McClurkin Ministries and another to Obama Ministries and Donnie will order Jesus to forgive you!

12. I was an Obama supporter...
.. until I noticed just how far he's willing to bend over for the right wing vote. I'm tired of "hoping" and I'm tired of trying to appease people who should be begging for forgiveness for what they have done to America.

...IOWD's ...Obama was always meant to be the VP for the P-Resident Pick for '08. HE's fulfilling his role perfectly for that. So why blame him?

18. Barack Obama is NOT running for VP....
he KNOWS that there is no way in HELL that Hillary (if she gets the nomination) will pick him as her running mate. Not just because of the woman & black on the same ticket thing, but I think she genuinely hates and resents him for forcing her to have to actually sweat out and work for this nomination...he might, just might, be able to get the nomination himself...she was supposed to have this thing wrapped up already. The last thing she thought she'd be doing 72hrs. before the 1st cause votes is marathon campaigning in every hollar and hick town in Iowa begging for votes! She will NEVER forgive him for standing in the way of what she feels is her due. If she is the nominee, Obama won't even be asked to campaign for the ticket which he will NOT be on.

20. Daily Kos trashes Edwards for accepting public financing; Clinton "is in it to win" w/Corporate cash
Interesting. I knew Kos and some of the MoveOn folks were
"ends justify the means" partisan yuppies who only care
about sucking up to their favorite center-left candidates,
but I never guessed it was to this degree. Trashing
campain finance reform and trashing candidates as hypocrites
for taking less corporate cash? What about that insider
DC political blogger who trashed Dodd for "pandering"
against a FISA immunity bill that "the Democrats will
eventually need to pass"?
