Look what just opened up in my town!!
My mouth dropped when I drove by and saw the name. Well, Cherokee County, Georgia is an all-red county.
Check out the menu. Do you think they will serve me if I tell them I am a Democrat?

17. Lester Maddox's restaurant was "The Pickrick", just north of Georgia Tech.
Motto: "You pick it out, we rick it up." And Lester did indeed pass out wooden axe handles to customers in the mid 1960s.

32. Because creativity is untrustworthy to RWers?
Could be...

Conservatives don't trust anything new. New ideas, new insight, new styles---they just aren't done. To their own, stifling, detriment.

I would make a terrible rightwinger, solely based on my tastes in music, art, clothing, and hair. If I were to be a convincing rw'er, I'd have to force myself to not be influenced by new and creative ideas. I'd have to be 5 years out of style in order to fit in. I'd be bored to death!

68. Yes - they are deeply suspicious of imagination and creativity.
Anything outside their rigid conventionality terrifies them. This includes all forms of art, music, and of course humor.

They disdain logic and thinking (required for wit and humor) and seem driven by "feelings" instead. Unfortunately, their "feelings" involve mostly fear and hate.

BTW, do you remember the old Talking Heads album Fear Of Music? What a great title.

"The Kennedy": Shaved roast beef with sauteed onions and mushrooms topped with monterrey jack and au jus for drowning.

(actual sandwich on menu)

i do note that they seem to be missing the Larry Craig Wide Stance Wiener, served with cream dressing inside hot toasted buns.

on second edit: they even attack their own. how cruel is this:

"The Betty": Bourbon-roasted pecans, dried apples and cranberries, blue cheese crumbles, mixed greens.

yeah, a regular laff-riot, making fun of a First Lady who conquered, and aided others with, substance abuse problems.

Everything is fried in the south. If you like it steamed you are called gay. I was born and raised in the south so I know these fucking racists for what they are. Oh I forgot to mention they are also fascists. Southern fascists are so ignorant they don't realize that they are embracing the fascism their grandfathers and grandmothers fought and died to eradicate from the world.

I know of all the great artists that come from the south and that much intelligence and scientific discovery has come from the south. What is ironic is that such greatness can exist next to such lowlife ignorance. :dem:

Yeah, that does sound like the apex of ignorance. That isn't what "gay" means, and calling eating preferences "gay" is extremely moronic.

But, I'll bet, if that same Good Old Boy who likes his food fried happens to have sex with other dudes ocasionally, he's not gay. He just has sex with other dudes sometimes.

"..a chance to be politically incorrect and great food makes The Right Wing Tavern the perfect downtown watering hole."

That is code for, "We can use derogatory terms to describe minorities, women, gays and others we don't like without anyone hassling us. At the same time we can enjoy rare steaks while telling PETA to go to hell."

A place for bigots and racists to gather. It's just what this country needs. :dem:

The uniquely themed restaurant will play on right wing politics with a tongue-in-cheek perspective. Cleverly coined menu items such as Reagan Atomic Wings, and Condoleeza Pilaf give diners a chance to enjoy the lighter side of politics. The tavern will also host events such as Political Trivia Night and Soapbox Night that will give citizens and community leaders a place to gather and debate relevant political issues. Political comedians and live music are also on the venue.

I live too far away, but maybe some of you could give those righties a lesson?

The ad is kind of ambiguous about their actual political attitude, if any. I hope that a nearby DUer will have dinner there & report back!

They mention that there will be "political comedians" on hand. As we know so well, right-wingers have no sense of humor whatsoever and are physically unable to "do" comedy, except for the mean-spirited Comedian-Rush-Limbaugh type. I'd love to hear who these "comedians" turn out to be and how they go over.
