Apparently when the NYC AAR affiliate moved to WWRL, they were forced to keep the pre-existing Williams/Sam Greenfield show on. And apparently it is WWRL that is causing the problem today.

5) Stephanie Miller says something bad about the station for firing Sam Seder.

Possible consequences (Pick one or more of the following):

a) Station puts Sam back on the air, but sadly Stephanie Miller loses an affiliate.
b) Station dumps progressive talk all together.
c) Station learns their lesson, but keeps Stephanie Miller.
d) Station dumps Stephanie Miller and picks-up Ed Schultz
e) Sam and Stephanie both get TONS of great publicity.

22. Sam deserves a regular spot with a good network.

He's worked hard to carve out his own audience. And you should hear what some of the callers say to old "Army" -- one told him just recently -- to his face -- that he could no longer be trusted. The caller sounded distressed, too, that he has lost what he thought was a good source of information. He must be way slow on the uptake, but stuff gets around eventually.

Nothing Sam said could have been as damning as that phone call, and they let the caller talk until he was done.

I think WWRL might want their station back; I wouldn't be surprised if there's more to this than some offhand comment made by Sam.

I like it even better than XM ... the hardware is better, and they devote a whole channel to The Metropolitan Opera, which is light years better than the classical voice station on XM. I get a good clear signal most nights, but not all. :(

the hell had happened, I was really looking forward to his dissection of the SOTU!!!

AAR/WWRL sucks, BIG TIME..and as was said, that signal is so weak that at around 4PM I cannot hear the broadcast clearly and by 6PM I don't even bother anymore.

I listen to WWRL in my car and from home. The signal sucks most of the day, and really gets horrible in the evening.

I also have a big problem with Armstrong Williams, paid Repuke shill that he is. Most people do not distinguish between WWRL as a local New York radio station and AAR. Still, it does appear to give AAR a bad name. I do like Sam Greenfield, though.

They don't have a contact us option, but they do have a "suggest a topic" option, and that is where I sent my email deriding their decision to take Sam Seder off.

I've heard Randi put down Al Franken numerous times. How come they don't take her off the air? It's only equitable. (Not that I advocate taking her off the air, just it's a double standard.)

I guess I'll give them some credit, as they are at least carrying local programming. Liberal talk stations that carry local shows tend to be more successful.
