***Attention Colorado Progressives! *** "The 2008 Elections: A Strategy for Progressives"
I'm posting this in GD because it's short notice. Also, there is NO copyright, in fact, they are asking that this information be transmitted to all, so I'm posting it all.

The Colorado Muslim Society and The Network of Spiritual Progressives present a history-making open community forum featuring Rabbi Michael Lerner, Keynote Speaker and Discussion Leader.

Also Featuring Sheikh Mohamed Sameer Altabaa, the new Imam of the Abu Bakr Mosque.

Sunday, January 6, 2008 -- 3:30 p.m. Open to the public. No Registration. No admission charge.

Location: The Colorado Muslim Society Abu Bakr Mosque 2071 South Parker Road, Denver CO 80231 (near Dayton Street on Parker Rd.) (Women wishing to tour the masjid are asked to dress modestly.)

Rabbi Michael Lerner in 2005 founded The Network of Spiritual Progressives with co-chairs Professor Cornel West and Benedictine Sister Joan Chittister. The "NSP" is an interfaith organization of progressives and liberals (religious, atheists and agnostics who see themselves as "spiritual but not religious") seeking a New Bottom Line for the U.S. and other Western societies-- a switch from the ethos of materialism and selfishness to an ethos of love, caring for others, generosity, and kindness. The Network of Spiritual Progressies has several thousand members in the U.S. and Canada.

Join us for a provocative afternoon integrating Values and Politics.

I'm hoping to be able to attend, and hope to see other DUers there!

Any friend of Cornel West and Joan Chittister is a friend of mine!

:hi: :)

2. Thanks, hlthe2b! It's more than that.... it's about Progressive Strategery for 2008! We NEED to
be discussing this together!

This is an ecumenical meeting, and I hope it brings about some great ideas and strategery!!

Hope to see you there..
