Things that Congress can and should cut funding for:
Any action which is the result of a signing statement, in which the President interprets a law differently from the will of the Congress and the text of the law, yet refuses to veto the law.

They should include a prohibition on extraordinary rendition.

They should include a prohibition on the funding of Guantanamo Bay, or any tribunal which may not provide the basic rights of the accused, they should specify those rights.

They should prohibit funding for any action which in general violates the laws of the United States of America or the US Constitution.

-------------------------------------------------------
If they do this, and Bush violates these prohibitions, it will be within the reach of impeachment.

1. Defund the entire Dept of Labor...
which has become a shill and a lapdog for corporate america and it's anti-union anti-worker agenda.

5. I understand your feelings, but that is exactly what they want, and have worked toward.
You're absolutely correct in your appraisal of their performance and they have been perverted, along with just about every non-military department and bureau, over the last 6 years. Making them non, or even counter, functional is the first step in the process to get rid of them entirely. EPA and the USPS are two other examples of governmental agencies that have been sabotaged from within by this mal-administration.

BTW, Clinton reigned them in during his tenure as well, as they are a vital tool for aiding workers in their endless struggle against corporate amerika.

10. While I do somewhat agree with you...
I also think that no great strides were made for labor unions in this country under Clinton. It was a pretty disappointing tenure from that standpoint imo.

13. *Total agreement smily goes here*
After suffering through this unending nightmare, we have forgotten just how far we fell before the squatters took over. Arbusto has really been a blessing for WJC, since the atrocities of the last six years have made most everyone forget or overlook the corporate agenda he implemented during his tenure.

7. No, what you need to do is denazify the Dept. of Labor.
Gut everybody with conflicts of interests inside that Dept. and replace them with people who are both skilled and non-conflicted.

12. Good start, then we can get to the elimination of the entire BATF,
The Osprey

all "star wars" related research and projects

most of the ag subsidies (especially tobacco, ethanol, and sugar)

create a "blue ribbon panel" to ferret out and eliminate corporate welfere and then implement their recommended cuts

begin withdrawal of our military from many of the 186 countries that we have military bases in, especially in Europe, Japan, South Korea (all countries that are more than capable of defending, and/or bearing the cost of defending, themselves)

the DEA

do what Rumsfeld always talked about, but failed to do (or even try), and re-invent the entire military for the new world that we face, and most importantly start realizing the peace benefit that has been stolen from us.
