R D FOX NH report:: Jan. 4th, Rudy & Mitt in New Hampshire
I got to NH yesterday afternoon, 1st stop, a Rudy Rally. 2nd stop we went to a Mitt rally. Rudy was asked about Health Care and he turned the answer into 9-11, Rudy's speaking was disjointed, convoluted, an actual characterization of himself. 120 people were at the rally, and the crowd acted bored.

Rudy was not a good speaker and was a bit nervous, his body language was twitchy & busy, the crowd sensed it.

Sensing we were watching a candidate bomb big time, we left for the Manchester Senior Citizen Center to catch Romney, a small venue, also with about 120 people attending, the difference was big media, TV cameras, print press. I saw EJ Dionne at the press tables.

Mitt Romney spoke with no passion, monovolume, his speaking manner was like day old flat soda, nearly every answer to each question was about getting experts studying the problem and fixing it, just like he did with the Winter Olypmics. Asked about energy independence Mitt never used the words "solar power", or "wind power". Funny... some countries thought solar & wind was the way to go in the late 1970's, apparently Mitt needs to study the problem a bit more. He also thought we should get the French to build us some new nukes. Must be the special underwear.

IS our slate that much stronger? Yeah, this bunch of republicans really are that bad,

Then we checked into our rooms and went to the bar. We spoke to Chris Shays about McCain, Shays was very nice. Lindsey Grahm was at the bar, and I spied the Wonkette as well as Chris Salizza of the WaPo.

This morning we'll start out the day by going to the Obama rally at 10am. See you all later.

1. No wonder NH Pubs seem to be leaning toward McCain!
At least he speaks like a human and has some enthusiasm.

2. Thanks for the report! I'd be interested to know what you think
Edwards chances are here in NH. I'm going to vote for him and I know many others who are because he, while not being ideal, has the best position on the war among the frontrunners. Also, the NH Secretary of State is predicting a record turnout.

4. Why the Republican rallies? Are you trying to peel Republicans?
Why the Obama rally? When you post again, will you put up some of your strategy for attendance at rallies?

Thanks.

7. It was late in the day and we had just crossed the Mass NH border
These 2 were somewhat close. We're heading off to see Obama in about 15 minutes

11. What Strategy ? what event is closest to our hotel... DOH !
So you look at the schedule I posted and see which ones we can get to, considering our geographic location.

Can we get to the venue on time ?

Strategy: we are winging it.

18. Hey Roger! I got an idea..
Turn on your "Journal" function for dispatches from NH! That way we'll be able to zero in on your posts no matter where the threads are when we stop in!
