I just watched "The Trial of Tony Blair"

It was on UK Channel 4 a couple of weeks ago, and we recorded it. I don't care for TV all that much, so I've been putting off watching it, but I decided that since tomorrow night's the SOTU, I needed something to get myself through it.

All I can say is "WOW."

I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but it's GOOD.

It'll be well worth the DVD purchase price when it's released.

1. The UK is great
We'd never get anything like this on a primetime channel in the United States. Maybe it'd make Sundance Channel or IFC...

3. I don't envision it being broadcast on any of the "librul" media,

but maybe one of the ones you mentioned will broadcast it (not familiar with those channels; been away too long).

By the way, welcome to DU! :)

5. That'd be terrific.
Thanks! I don't rent / buy DVDs as a rule (trying to reduce clutter), but I could give it as a gift and borrow it.

:-)

7. What made me laugh
was when she went shopping round the corner from Connaught Square in Edgware Road which is as she said is like Little Beirut - mainly Lebanese restaurants infact. The protestor who was permanently camped out bang opposite their front door was a real hero.

I must say that Phoebe Nicholls who played his old woman is infinately better looking than that old bag he's really married to. :puke:

8. That protester was great.

Liked the cop in the station, too.

We kept trying to figure out where we'd seen Phoebe Nicholls before (really don't watch a lot of TV). She was very good in the role.

I thought Robert Lindsay did a good job in portraying Blair. Not quite as good as Rory Bremner, but then, who is? :D
