Bush says it will be a disaster if we leave Iraq now?
Did he have the foresight to see that before he willy-nilly invaded that country? Did the supporters of the invasion see the possibility of a disaster when they approved the IWR? Should we not ask about their judgement at this time also? If they were unable to foresee the "disaster" of the initial decision to invade, how could we possibly trust their judgement now? I say, we cannot.

2. It will be a bigger and longer disaster if we stay
The best case scenario I can see is Maliki standing up to the US fascists once too often, the fascists trying to remove him, and the country uniting behind him because he's been fighting the US fascists from time to time. That's probably a pipe dream.

We only have two options, getting out or being thrown out after many years of murder on all sides.

Yes, they will likely continue their civil war after we leave, but they're already sick and tired of it so I doubt a civil war will be a long one.

Whether or not it remains one country or divides into two or three is their business, not ours.

However, once we leave, my guess is that the UN will go in.

This doesn't get us off the hook for rebuilding the country we allowed Stupid to wreck. We will need to find a way to get supplies to them for a very long time.

3. I want to agree about the IWR, but using it as a litmus test

only applies to some candidates as far as I can tell. That throws things off base, basically gives an edge to candidates who were off record, unknown or so forth at that time. Is my thinking too "liberal" on this?

To me, personally, it shows a lack of good judgement.

6. Bush causes a disaster, then says if we do not prolong the disaster,
it will be a disaster.

Thanks, Bush voters, for giving us a complete criminal idiot for President. You Bush voters have done your best to destroy this country but We Democrats will not allow you to do so!

9. We need adults to fix the problem they created. They are the LAST ones we should
listen to now.

When the POTUS asks us to give him a chance for victory, someone should point out that they have botched nearly every decision leading up to this point...he has had many, many chances to do better -- we have no confidence this will turn out differently.

It's Already A Disaster
How delusional! It's already a disaster. If we stay, it's still a disaster. If we leave, it will be a disaster. So, it's a disaster no matter what. Therefore, staying accomplishes nothing.

12. Well, that IS true. It HAS been a disaster. And it will remain a disaster.
But it will be a bigger disaster the longer we stay.
