I was just watching MSNBC and they went to
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 10:53 AM by Texas Explorer
Columbia, SC, to talk to their reporter there and afterwards the anchor says "Let's watch." as the image moved to an overview of the SC Capitol grounds and a man speaking at the lecturn.

The man was saying: "...the inequities between the haves and the have-nots still exist today. These inequities are forged in the halls of the national capitol and this capitol. And it's done by design by those who..." (I'm paraphrasing there)

It all happened so fast but the man was basically saying what most of us here discuss and consider every day and I was starting to get excited hearing him say these things to the assembled thousands and to the cameras.

But, alas, it wasn't to be. As soon as the MSNBC people heard the "content of (the speaker's) character", the anchorwoman hem-hawwed "Ok, um...er..., we'll speak more with (MSNBC's reporter) in a bit but now...".

Like I said, this happened really fast so it's hard to get it word for word. But, from my vantage point, it would seem that the speaker was saying stuff that is forbidden to hear on MSNBC - and, as we know, the rest of the media. The bottom line is that the man was speaking truth to power and MSNBC cut him off for it.

I saw MSNBC censor truth with my own two eyes. Did you?

1. I do not doubt your word
If MSNBC had seen it coming they'd have blanked the speaker earlier.

2. Sounds like Edwards "Two Americas"
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 10:58 AM by itsrobert
Barack Obama thinks there is only one America, so this goes against his message. MSNBC pulled away because they didn't want to offend their corporate masters who give to Obama.

In the 1930's there was haves and have-nots and the "haves" were scared back than because they knew there was an angry "have not" class. Sadly, criminals like Dillinger, Bonnie and Clyde, Baby Face Nelson, etc became "heros" of the poor and the rich were trembling in their boots. Today, Exxon, Texaco, Disney, Boeing, NewsCorp are the heros of the rich and the poor are shaking in their boots.

4. Same reason why our msm avoids John Edwards. They don't like it when light is shined on our unholy
corporate predicament that we have here in this country.

6. I saw that but I was distracted so the only part that really
perked my attention was the part where he said "Ok can we get the camera back on me?"

It was confusing because the context of that was lost on me. I was hoping it wasn't an ego thing.

7. I saw that too!
I don't know who the speaker was, but I just shook my head in disgust when MSNBC, almost frantic, cut away from him. I got the feeling that the anchor had a producer screaming in her ear because she seemed a little flustered when the camera suddenly cut back to her.

The media filters the messages we're allowed to hear very carefully. And obviously this was one not for our tender ears. USA! USA! USA!

8. Thank you! I'm so glad someone else saw that and I
wasn't just having a "They're coming to take me away...oh no!" moment. Do you remember the speakers words before they cut away?

9. pretty much as you summed it up
In fact, you did a much better job than I would have paraphrasing the speaker. I was too much in "WTF?" mode at the time.
