Someone posted it in the Pets group recently, and I read it from thhe very beginning, and have been visiting daily since. I joined the daily email too. I was thrilled to read that she has signed a book deal. I really look forward to that. That pup grew up from the cutest little furball to a majestic creature!

5. I saw a coyote going down my tract housing street today

I live on the last street before a large field and then the American River in Sacramento County. I've heard the coyotes at night a few times and my neighbor has told me about seeing them in the early morning hours. This time I saw one in broad daylight trotting down the street. I've never seen one so large and well-fed looking. I'm sure it has plenty to eat down along the river.

I've just moved back here in April from an absence of 27 years to take care of my elderly mother who has mild Alzheimers Disease. I have frequently seen a flock of turkeys and every so often a peacock or two. They cross through the front yards of our small ranch-style stucco houses. When I was growing up here, it was more likely that one would see a hawk sitting on your fence, a snake in your yard, or barn owls flying overhead at night. Now they are rarer sightings, but these other animals are now commonly seen.
