Will the USA pay reparations to Iraq after withdrawal?

I was wondering if this has ever been adressed: Will the United States pay reparations to the Iraqi people for waging an illegal war of agression against their country, after withdrawing from Iraq? Once a democrat gets elected into office, I am curious wether the debt that the American people as a whole owe to the Nation of Iraq will be adressed. In my opinion, anything short of a full reconstruction of the entire infrastructure, including life-long healthcare for every citizen of Iraq, plus an additional life-long pension for every Iraqi citizen who lost a limb, suffered a different kind of permanent injury, or lost family members due to the conflict, taken from the American taxpayers money, will be a disgrace.

1. Absolutely

There's still war treaties from WWI that some countries are still paying for. There's 50 year, even 100 year treaties that Britain and Germany had to pay for bombing cities and shipping harbors. However knowing how the US government works, we always expect every other country to honor their treaties but we don't ever feel obligated to fulfill ours.

More than 900 claims have been filed with the brigade, which is responsible for 1.5 million people in the al-Rashid district of Baghdad. Since July, Capt Murphy has paid out an astonishing $106,000 (£62,500) in 176 different cases. Payments are given for damage to cars and houses, injury and death. The money frequently covers little more than the cost of the traditional three-day funeral ceremony. Only rarely does the army admit any liability.

5. In Vietnam, once we withdrew, we were no longer interested

in providing any "reparations" to the Vietnamese people once "our" government fell. Iraq will be different. We will not fully withdraw from there for many, many years, if ever. As long as we have an interest in propingup a particular government there we will provide money and materiel to the country but never "reparations" since in the view of our government we never did anything wrong. Reparations is an issue that will never be addressed by this government.

Trillions of our tax dollars have gone over there to build schools, provide health care, create jobs, and implement a democratic government. When are we going to get a slice of that pie? :sarcasm: (sort of)
