When Antoine Draper sent his two year old pit bull, MiMi, to live with his brother for a while, he said it was like parting with one of his kids.

"From a puppy I fed her with a bottle. From the time she was born," Draper said.

But just days before Christmas, he got a call that made him sick to his stomach.

"I was working, I got a phone call said somebody set my dog on fire. When I came down here my dog was on fire," Draper said.

Mimi was set on fire while she was giving birth to puppies. The dog was still burning when Draper got there and he said he knows who did it.

"I found out later on it was my brother's girlfriend who was mad and high. She sent her friend to get gasoline to kill my dog to hurt my brother. She thought it was my brother's dog. But it was actually my dog," Draper said.

I got this story and info in an email:

2. the fact that no one has been charged is really troubling
studies have shown that people who treat animals cruelly like this often go on to do the same with kids. What are they waiting for? The woman to get "mad and high" again and set fire to a child?

3. That monster needs to be sterilized and lobotomized
That way she won't breed any more like her and she'll no longer need drugs.

8. I cannot begin to describe how sick and pissed that makes me
There is NO punishment too severe for the lowlife piece of shit that would do something like this. Bring back the Spanish Inquisition. Waterboard the bitch.

And yes it is about vengeance as far as I'm concerned. A poor helpless dog can't do anything to punish those who abuse it.

10. If animal cruelty is not illegal there, I know that destruction of property
is. At the very least, the owner of the dog and her brother should be able to take the perp to civil court for damages. A small compensation, but better than nothing.

14. I knew I shouldn't have clicked on this link - Oh God - I knew it.
This woman should be locked up forever.

I would spit in her face myself if I could. I would lock her cell door myself and smelt the key. I would fill her little cell with images and sounds designed to drive her to madness, and it would never be enough.

18. What a monster.

A University of Memphis Tigers scout flies to Baghdad to watch a young man play basketball in a new American sponsored league and is very impressed with a young Iraqi player. He arranges for him to come over to the US and play basketball on scholarship.

A few months later the Tigers are down 10 points to the Kansas Jayhawks with only 5 minutes left. Calipari gives the young Iraqi the nod and he goes in. The kid is a sensation, scoring 5 three point goals in 5 minutes and winning the game for the Tigers!

The fans, players and coaches are all delighted. Even ESPN loves this new star!

When the player comes off the court he phones his Mom to tell her about his first day of NCAA basketball.

'Hello Mom, guess what?' he says in an Iraqi accent. 'I played for 5 minutes today, we were 10 points down, but I scored 5 three pointers and we won. Everybody loves me, the fans, the media, they all love me.'

'Wonderful,' says his Mom, 'now let me tell you about my day. Your father got shot in the street and robbed, your sister was raped, I was ambushed, and beaten and your brother has joined a gang of looters, and all while you were having such great time.'

The young Iraqi is very upset. 'Mom, I'm so sorry.'

'All you can say is you're sorry?!?!?!?!?' says his Mom. 'It's your fault we moved to Memphis in the first place!'

26. MPD is investigating this cruel crime
The Memphis PD IS investigating this horrible crime but unfortunately the witnesses and their stories have not been reliable enough to charge the sister with burning this poor dog. Yet.

You also ought to direct your complaints to Kenneth Moody who is the Director over Animal Services which is the main City of Memphis division that investigates animal cruelty.
