Thank you Senator Murray

Sen. Patty Murray, a Democrat, was skeptical of a new bipartisan panel on terrorism.

"We've had the Iraq study commission. You couldn't pick a more knowledgeable or experienced group of people, and he turned down their advice," she said. The Iraq Study Group was co-chaired by former Secretary of State Jim Baker.

As for the president's words about the consequences of failure in Iraq, she said, "No one wants failure in Iraq. That's why so many of us are opposed to the surge."

2. Exactly. Never underestimate the power of denial - and how much we'll spend on it.
The die was cast in March 2003 when the US illegally invaded Iraq. That bell can never be unrung. We've spent about $550 billion (about $20,000 per Iraqi!) since then, all totally immersed in DENIAL. "Insane" doesn't even begin to cover this abomination.

3. yeah, I wish Democrats would cut the euphemisms and go for the jugular
Bush lied to the American people, and used our troops, our children, as the brick to break the window for a smash and grab robbery to give Iraq's wealth to his cronies. If Bush had broken into a jewelry store, we wouldn't be fretting about how to clean up BEFORE we stop him from filling his pockets with engagement rings and necklaces.

4. Indeed, and doing more of the same won't stop the failure.
