2 to 1

It is never phrased that way, though. Somehow just saying 33% sounds better than being outnumbered two to one.

We should start the "outnumbered two to one" meme.

as in:

Supporters of the President, outnumbered two to one, continue in spite of overwhelming opposition.

heh.

my thought for the day.

1. True! and CBS's 28% approval means that 72% or almost 3/4
disapprove of the chimp.

2. Lets interject conservative logic here
If bush were batting 33% in the national league he'd be an MVP and glorified by all throughout the land.

3. I would be willing to bet some ot those 33%
don't even approve, they just feel obligated to say yes because of a misguided sense of party loyalty.

4. or due to the way they were selected for the poll.
remember, that leading up to 2006 election, the polls were depressed artificially because companies like Rasmussen would cherry pick more GOP and conservative voters because their world view told them that they were underrepresented. Ergo, Bush looked stronger. They still may be doing that.

5. This is funny...
I Googled "one third of people are" and looked at the abstract where the majority of the results are negative.

"One-third of people are affected by disease of the brain"
"Only one-third of people are data- driven, e.g., seek out ìprimary data itself as a source of information"
"one third of people are susceptible to motion sickness in mild circumstances"
"Worldwide, about one third of people are infected with the TB bug"
"the sale of counterfeit goods is illegal and, over one third of people are prepared to turn a blind eye to this"
"About one-third of people are salt-sensitive,"
"One third of people are in denial of varying degrees"

What is it with "one third of the people"???
