His campaign literature refers to Roe v. Wade as "a flawed decision that must be overturned." And his health-care plan consists of a bewildering array of changes that, as some intern scribbled on his Web site, would end up "putting more decisions and responsibility" on the shoulders of individual Americans. Translation: You'll be paying for it yourself.

Don't let anyone tell you McCain is some kind of post-partisan savior. He's just as bad any wild-eyed 700 Club true believer, and he's even worse on Iraq, where a President McCain would keep us for generations.

1. my sister, a librarian, is on board with McCain

She admires his "grit" and while he isn't conservative enough for her, she is even willing to give up talk radio because they're all bashing him. She's not a snake-handler by any means. She's an erudite, aware person who is also a conservative. She's not happy with Republican choices, but will support McCain.

4. being that I am related to some in the...

"snake-handling, tent-revival crowd" (i love that phrase btw) through marriage not blood, I was surprised to find them saying that they will vote for Obama, not because they like him, but because the hate McCain and they still think the Clintons are baby eating satanists. I am an Obama supporter, but I have to admit, knowing that I am voting the same as them for the first time in 15 years makes me a little queasy...

5. The "hold our nose and vote" crowd won't be the ones needed for

phone banks, lit drops, and the get out the vote effort. Motivation is key, and I don't see much from the Republicans.

If the Reps don't show up on Election day, it will also hurt the down ticket candidates.

We need to win big. We need the McCain campaign totally beaten and dispirited. We need the negative coat tails.
