Kentucky residents! Please call your state legislators in support of HB 70
http://www.lrc.ky.gov/record/08RS/HB70.htm

AN ACT proposing an amendment to Section 145 of the Constitution of Kentucky relating to persons entitled to vote.
Propose to amend Section 145 of the Constitution of Kentucky to exclude a convicted felon from the right to vote until expiration of probation or final discharge from parole or maximum expiration of sentence; submit to the voters for ratification or rejection.

This will restore voting rights to felons once they finish serving their terms. It's time to stop punishing people even after they paid their debt to society.

My cousin is a co sponsor of this bill.

1. That's fantastic!
You have no idea how much this means to me. I am a felon, and so I doubt that my legislator would give two shits what I have to say...but I can at least give you a K & R!

2. Thank you. Gov Ernie Fletcher responded to our pleas by making it even
harder for ex felons to have their rights restored. So much for him being a "Man of God."

It will probably pass in the house, but the Senate is controlled by Republicans.

3. Dontcha know? Forgiveness only applies...
when they get themselves in trouble!

It would be very nice to see this pass, but I am a bit troubled by the amendments to the bill. Apparently, only some felons deserve the right to vote after completing their sentences.

4. I don't care too much for the amendments because it is left up
to the governor for those particular crimes. We could get another unforgiving prick like Ernie who only avoided jail himself because he gave amnesty to all of the co conspirators.
