Look at what buying gas is paying for

It's owned by the family of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the former president of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Abu-Dhabi. This car is SOLID SILVER

2. Maybe he's sick of running over werewolves?
Used to be, he'd hit one and it would pop right back up again. Not so, with this baby!

5. They'll need the silver bodywork
and the gold plumbing fixtures when the oil runs out.

You should see the conspicuous consumption in this country by hedge fund managers and the rest of the financial thieves. That silly car pales in comparison.

7. Sweet!
Don't want to see his polishing bill when it turns funny colors, though.

Doesn't he know Auric Goldfinger had a solid gold Rolls Royce? That's the way to go!

12. That's an urban legend -- the car is not solid silver
Edited on Wed Feb-20-08 01:45 PM by salvorhardin
The car is not solid silver.

The photographs displayed above are genuine, but they don't quite depict an automobile "made from solid silver." The shiny appearance of the Audi A8 pictured here is not due to its being made of silver, but to a customization involving a special polishing technique used to produce a chrome-like finish, for which the car's Dubai owner engaged the firm Motoren Technik Mayer, based in Wettstetten, Germany.

14. Well except for being an Urban Legend
it's a good tale. I've been getting this e-mail for over a year. They also usually include photos of some big resort and try to pass it off as this guy's private residence.

That said, I still don't like paying the high gas prices.

17. I hate high gas prices too
But tales like this are invidious in that they help to propagate a subtle form of bigotry. Furthermore, we decry the main stream media and the Bush administration for promoting misinformation so it would be nice if we stood above such practices ourselves. Granted, as such things go this is a relatively minor example.
