Don't get my wrong - I've got a rooting interest in the Primaries, and I'm not shy about expressing my opinions. But there's absolutely no joy in fighting with my fellow Dems. Going after hypocrites like McCain on the other hand - now that's just good, clean fun the whole Dem family can enjoy!

5. Northern soul you point out an issue that hopefully will take over
here. I myself don't mind sharing my reservation over the glee of the Dem's. ,surging, candidate. I feel no connection to words borrowed or put together to make a statement of hope. I sure wish I could. I want to be wrong, because my country does need some change. But this candidate that talks about hope, also talks about conciliatory actions. Do we really want the folks who have costs millions of liefs via 9-11,Iraq,Katrina, because it was the "patriotic thing to do"? Do we really want the folks who played around at an airport with a 14 day old baby "homeland security" to have a place in our country? Do we want an Insurance industry who's policy's ignored the phone calls of nurses and doctors about a worsening condition of a young women's
life. That decision to re-instate this young women's coverage was several hours too late-she lost the insurance co. won. To be conciliatory to these groups means-loss of life. I find no hope in that kind of change.

6. Oh, hell yes. It's why I finally hid GD-P
There are simply places on DU I won't go: the specific religious groups that deserve the simple respect of not being invaded by an atheist, the astrology group, and the conspiracy group, and now GD-P.

I'd much rather be here and dish on GOPs and in groups that pertain to my specific and highly varied interests.

12. No doubt! LOL!
Why I've never volunteered to moderate DU: I used to help moderate a very active diabetes board and even THAT could get ridiculously contentious at times (especially about the Atkins Diet--wow!).

I can't even imagine for a moment what you go through (and I'm guilty at times, too).

Thank you, thank you, thank you--and:

15. aww geez whiz
 thanks.

The only thing that is hard in all honesty is that you read so many talented people here at DU and then emotions run high and the good stuff gets drowned out by all the rotten things people spew at one another.

But hey the primaries aren't forever. :hi:

11. No
GD had some cool and interesting and thoughtful threads the last few days. Then today I come here and it's all McCain's personal life, all the time. Not really an interesting subject.

Oh well, that's what hide thread is for. Plus I can go see what's up in the groups and the R/T board I guess.
