Did anyone get a screen grab of Barbara Starr in Fallujah?
She looked very odd indeed. The traditional Fallujah Potemkin Village had been rolled out for some General or another and she was traipsing along in a helmet and protective vest.. accompanied, of course, by plenty of security...

5. Why?
She was actually one of the least offensive of the Pentagon reporters, on a personal level. She made extra effort to not talk out of her ass, and get her facts in order. She also wasn't full of herself. Hardworking.

8. She identified a 14 year-old Iraqi girl who was raped and killed by soldiers as a woman
Thats good enough for me to hate her.

9. Well, you do what you will, but that is a pisspoor reason to "hate" someone.
Did you bother to write to her to ask her about what she knew and when she knew it, or ask why?

Didn't think so.

11. I did write her
Sent her a Reuters link from over a month before showing the girls picture ID.

I didn't get a response.

She caller her a woman again the next day.

15. She was pretty gracious and accomodating during the Clinton years.
I never got the sense that she was an "obvious Rethug propagandist."

Whatever.

10. Sorry..She was trailing along in another one of those "we can't leave
or this charming marketplace will be blown away" photo-ops where shopkeepers lay out their wares, and yet, oddly, there are NO SHOPPERS, and all the kids have these new & improved, US Sanctioned Iraqi flags....

And the whole contingent is surrounded by massive security. .

She is not bothering with much in the way of "facts" or showing much in the way of "extra effort" today.

12. She's been at the Pentagon for a long time. She's probably been pushed
to do this dog/pony tour so she can keep that gig.

All I can say is, she's more accurate than most of those cubicle rats in the press center. And not half as obnoxious.

She has become just another "anything for access" hack. I don't give a rat's ass what she looks like or how old she is. She sure as hell is no Helen Thomas!. . . get off the stump MADem, you're barking up the wrong tree.

18. Credibility problems in my view
If she's being "pushed" into doing this dog/pony tour to keep her cushy job at the Pentagram, doesn't that hurt her credibility just a little bit?

As for accuracy, well, sometimes she is and sometimes she isn't.

16. I hate her too
she is nothing but a puppet for the pentagon propaganda machine. Never once has she corrected a FALSE US military report out of Iraq. And we all know about 90% of them are FALSE, Including the latest about the downs syndrome women bombers. She is pathetic.

4. Potemkin Village ! Perfect. Kudos Anna !
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potemkin_village

Potemkin village
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Potemkin villages were, purportedly, fake settlements erected at the direction of Russian minister Grigori Aleksandrovich Potemkin to fool Empress Catherine II during her visit to Crimea in 1787. According to this story, Potemkin, who led the Crimean military campaign, had hollow facades of villages constructed along the desolate banks of the Dnieper River in order to impress the monarch and her travel party with the value of her new conquests, thus enhancing his standing in the empress's eyes.

22. O.T. Jevver notice ...?
how those blue helmets and body armor on the press stick out in the crowd of desert-pattern camo-clad guys? (yes... I know... tan in the pics, but generally blue)

If you were a sniper... which would you choose?

Why not dress the press and other civilians in bright red with large black dots on the torso, and be done with it?
