Reppublicans in Senate block minimum wage hike
Figures... assholes can't do anything without trying to attach a tax break to it.

WASHINGTON, Jan 24 (Reuters) - U.S. Senate Republicans on Wednesday blocked a Democratic bill to increase the federal minimum wage for the first time in a decade, demanding it first include small-business tax relief.

Democrats fell short of the 60 needed to end debate and go to passage of the House-passed measure, which would raise the minimum wage to $7.25 per hour from $5.15 per hour over two years.

14. I vote Ramen is too good for rethugs too
It's my lunch most days. I need a little seaweed, for iron and taste. (And I wonder why some of my friends look at me funny sometimes)

Mac&Cheese is old tired and just right for rethugs.

10. Yeah, and bologna sandwiches..
Of course remember what Justice Alito said when they asked for their raises, "You just can't raise a family on $165,000 a year".

8. The Senate will pass a bill increasing the minimum wage and cutting taxes
Each side will get something that they want. It's hard to ram something through the Senate when you only have 50 Democratic votes.

7. Do what Reid wanted to do in the first place have a SMALL tax cut for
SMALL business... Bush has said he would sign that and Reid knew that was what was needed to get a couple votes.

9. What was it that Hagel said?
"If you want a safe job, go sell shoes", I guess he wasn't listening to his own words regarding the surge.

12. Plenty of taxcuts for the haves...no relief for the have-nots.
At least we are getting the opportunity to put these people on the record. Let them explain their thinking to the voters in 2008.

13. Thinks of all the tax breaks they have been giving out
to business without tying it to a wage increase. What hypocrates.
