Rove Holding Banner Calling for Siegelman’s Release

To top off his antics from yesterday, Rove closed the day holding a “Free Don Siegelman” banner in Los Angeles, and giving a brief interview to Alan Breslauer.

Here’s the YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjlBxfoUH2E&eurl=http://harpers.org/archive/2008/02/hbc-90002498

...............

Rove states that he’s never met Jill Simpson, then he backtracks on that, owning up that, well, maybe he did. But “I never asked her to do a darn thing.”

Jill Simpson has said the opposite, and she has given much of her account, naming him, under oath and subject to cross examination. My hunch is that Karl Rove will do anything to avoid speaking under oath. Time for a subpoena? Karl Rove has been in a lot of campaigns in Alabama, and sat in a lot of conference rooms in Montgomery and elsewhere strategizing about them. And indeed, there are quite a few people who were present at these meetings.

I think we should hear Karl Rove out on this in some detail. He should be sworn in and testify subject to crossexamination. Then let’s see if he says the same thing he offers up to Fox now.

1. Wasn't this on 60 minutes Sunday night and Rove is the reason
Siegelman is in prison?

Just waking up...

7. "Rove states that he’s never met Jill Simpson, then he backtracks on that"
I guess if you make it standard practice to lie every single time you are asked a question about anything, no matter how trivial, it makes it more difficult to pin down what the truth actually is. And then that makes it easier to manufacture "truths".

9. Bingo
But hey, they're just regular people like you and me and we all make mistakes right?

And try to remember that they don't lie, they "misstate the truth". They "misunderstand" the question, they "backtrack". Only their enemies lie. ;)

They may do things that sound like they made a mistake but only the soft and kind mistakes, not the life threatening ones. Only the bad guys make life threatening mistakes, like admitting a mistake.

And your life is in danger when their political enemies lie and even when they tell the truth and even when they're not speaking at all ... they should be kept out of the public purview.

If lies got Don Siegelman put in prison then they were the kind of lies that were meant to Protect The Homeland, i.e. the good lies. Not the scary "American could blow up" kind of truth-seeking that would uncover national secrets while proving republicans lied. Errr, I mean proved they were only trying to protect you. Hey, why do you hate America?

PS: In case you forgot, America = Republicans
