KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine -- A long-shot Senate candidate said she wants to have President George W. Bush arrested if he sets foot in Kennebunkport, where his parents have an oceanfront home.
Laurie Dobson, an anti-war activist who lives in Kennebunkport, took the first step Tuesday toward obtaining what she described as an indictment that could lead to the arrest of both the president and Vice President Dick Cheney.

In Kennebunkport, where registered Republicans outnumber Democrats nearly 2-1, officials are expressing skepticism about the legality of Dobson's effort. Town Manager Larry Mead said the local government doesn't have the power to indict.
