I listen to Rush and Hannity. Not because I enjoy them but
to remind myself why I vote Democratic. Hannity was broadcasting Kerry's withdrawal from the presidential race and he had the cry of a baby in the backround. I am a Vietnam combat veteran - 2 tours - and I have nothing but contempt for these administration's spokesmen for their constant trashing of those whom I consider American heroes. We do need a new revised updated FAIRNESS DOCTRINE.

1. You only need to turn to ABC or Faux News to
remind yourself of the need to dump the GOP. Listening to Rush and Hannity is going above and beyond what is needed.

2. Roger that teammate
and where was hannity broadcasting from? The safety of behind his microphone.

And Americans must truly love the "Conservative" logic: If I am forced to be fair, I will no longer be able to stay on the air. Only a "conservative" could accept such garbage.

Those on the right wing hate machine have spent absolutely zero time in support of our country in any way whatsoever.

I look forward to the chickenhawks swiftboating Senator Webb.

3. Hannity is beneath contempt, but we already knew that...
and we also all know that chickenhawk pansy-ass coward couldn't be half the man Kerry is even in his dreams.

Thanks to you for your service! :patriot:

4. How can you stomach to listen to them?
All they do is make fun of Democrats, and when they are not making fun of them they are trashing them with lies. It grates on my nerves too much to listen to them. I prefer to hear more positive things from decent people, rather than listen to them spew their poison and hatred.

6. It's almost impossible, but one point I'm trying to make here
is the absolute need for a fairness doctrine. Imagine, if you will, Randi Rhodes being able to be heard by the people who are only able to listen to Hannity and Limbaugh.

7. Hannity is a no talent useless hump
I can understand Rush's career it is sad and pathetic but it helps to identify those kinds of people. Hannity is useless he is so void of ability that the only purpose for him is to illustrate the RW noise machine's ability to create any reality that they want.

Crying noise?? Oh that is just low.

8. I'll pass on it, thanks. We don't need it.
I understand your frustration, but I don't need conservatives getting equal time where I listen.

Rush, Hannity, Savage and those types are the best possible advertisements for the Democratic Party. There are two possibilities:

1.) A fairness doctrine WILL actually hurt their shows. If so, we lose great PR and they'll run around screaming about supposed "censorship."

2.) A fairness doctrine WILL NOT hurt their shows. If so, how would it keep them from trashing Kerry?

No matter how much I loathe the festering bullshit that comes out of the mouths of neocons, a.) I do not want them to shut up, b.) I do not want to shut them up, c.) and I do not want the appearance of them being shut up by us or the appearance of our views being "forced upon" people through legislation. We don't need this crap - let's let our ideas speak for us while the assholes on the other side spew forth their hate. Seriously, when a conservative blowhard trashes a war hero and then defends a coward and idiot, why do we need a fairness doctrine when he's doing our job for us?

12. I don't claim to be a expert on the Fairness Doctrine, but
I did do my graduate thesis on the FD and the 1996 Telecommunications Act. These things I can tell you. First, there is a direct correlation between the 1987 abbrogation of the Fairness Doctrine and the loss of the South to the Republicans. With the exception of some metropolitan markets, almost all radio stations broadcast only music, religious programing, or RW talk radio. After hearing nothing but this 24/7, year after year, people develop a very republican conservative mindset. Secondly, a similar scenario has occurred throughout the middle tier of states. These people have virtually no access to any liberal or moderate broadcasts over the airwaves. This is why I think we need a new revised FAIRNESS DOCTRINE and a total revamp of the media ownership rules.

10. Several years ago I used to watch FAUX news to get the
"other side." I finally realized what a waste of time it was (for me) and haven't turned on that channel since. Now I have to listen to the republicons on C-SPAN and can hardly stand that, either (I usually switch to another of the C-SPAN stations when a republicon comes up to talk).

11. I listen for 10 minute stretches every so often.
I can't take much more than that. But I did listen to the entire Cindy Sheehan interview on Hannity last week and she did very well. She continuously had to correct him but it was nice to hear the facts get out on his show.
