Four years from now
is there any way any candidate of either party can win the next election with what the economy and war hold for the next few years? I am almost wishing McCain will get it and hence be known as the president who presided over the worst economy in many years and made a hash with our involvement in Iraq. Is there any hope of a dem candidate actually turning it all around?

1. Not likely - but he/she won't be Bush-lite

You honestly hope McBush wins? Seriously? It's about the big picture - Supreme Court Justices for one....

2. The trouble is- it is such a friggin mess!
Not the ordinary "these are tough times" sort of crap! If nothing else, Bush and Cheney should be jailed just for what they have done to the economy. But of course the list goes on and on. It is hard to believe any republican would have a chance in hell to be elected now or in the future. But I feel sorry for Obama or Hillary with all the crap that must be done. If they could bring jobs back and gas prices down, that at least would be a start. Of course everyone wants the war over first. This would be a great emotional boost to everyone, and hopefully all the other needed changes would begin to fall into place. God, our country is so fucked right now!

3. 4 More Years of Repigs Means The Mess Just Gets Worse for 4 More Years
Be careful what you wish for. In this case it is far too likely that you will get it.

When you're deep in a hole and can't get out, you really need to stop digging the hole deeper!

4. Let me emphasize the word "almost" in my original post.
I'm not to that point but I am just daunted by the enormous task the next administration will have ahead of them and wonder if they can come out the other side intact.
