Second attempt on a US Leader
folks we first had an attempt on bush when he went to Georgia (hand grenade for those who have an elephant's memory) and now an attack on the VEEP

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=298096&mesg_id=298096

All jokes aside... about Darth Vader and undead...

Somebody is sending us a message, and I wonder if the boys in the bunkers will get it. These two were assassination attempts, and somebody has inside knowledge. This is hardball...

So you may joke, or speculate, but to use the ever so popular phrase, somebody is playing hardball... the kind that includes lead... but somebody is.

Oh and lets not forget that this is actually quite unprecedented.

1. or these guys pulled this out of their ass to make themselves look invaluable and
generate sympathy, as happened in South Korea.

4. Nah, these two isolated events
are not that isolated.

The problem is... you will have several responses

1.- The cynics, and there are plenty round these parts

;-)

2.- The Right wing, which will go, but, but, poor of our fearless leaders, and they put themselves in the line of fire... which is bullshit

3.- The more rational response is that somebody somewhere is trying to cause a major incident... oh and in this case I believe you can safely discount Iran... my choice targets for causing one... as to who would benefit... Bin Ladin and the Pakis who got the riot act read to them.

24. here's a test of whether it was self-inflicted: how much media coverage did it get and has Bush
mentioned it ad nauseum in speeches?

If neither of those have or are happening, it is likely from outside their PR machine.

2. What goes around comes around

When you blast poor little kids out of their beds for years and tell prison guards to rape children and line your pockets with money that is meant to help the needy, well, karma is gonna catch up with you one day.

They say it does not appear to be a threat to Darth Coward, but of course they will say that.

The media are in love/bed with the Evil One, so they are going to help the sorry fucker save face.

3. "Somebody"???
Like Bush, you need to consolidate all the evils of the world into one monolithic monstrous mythic being of supreme power?

How about, lots and lots and lots of different people and different groups are really pissed with these hideous mistakes for human beings and feel it would be a public service to do away with them?

You might want to check if Las Vegas is giving them odds.

my god, what a valuable idea (plotting a novel right at the moment that may involve the death of a national leader in the 34th century, the disclaimer is for the secret service, who may be going hi boys)

7. I was just thinking the same thing
after posting in a thread about the secrecy surrounding Darth Weinie's trip.

I would imagine they are receiving many, many threats at the ol' White House these days. People all over the world are fed up and I have heard Americans say things about what they'd like to do that i don't even dare repeat here.

You know those bloodthirsty, greedy fuckers are scared shitless. I hope those who truly hate them follow them around and torment them to the end of their days.

9. I truly hope George is scared to get out of bed in the morning.
I hope every day of his life is a misery of terror. The coward dies a thousand deaths. George has at least a million in him.

As for Dick, I can't imagine what motivates a man who might die at any moment to flirt so furiously with damnation. It's like he owns real estate in Hell.

10. I know they do
and some around these parts also have great memories....

:-)

After all that other story percolated up and left in less than half a day.... odds are, this one will not make it to the begining of the day... then it is gone, into the memory hole

Sometimes it seems the minor is made major as far as posting goes. Were there assassination attempts on Clinton or Gore?

13. The last attempt on a US leader
was Reagan... been a while

These boys, that we know off, have an attempt on each one of them

What is unprecedented though is... these are the first attempts on US leaders OUTSIDE the US... if memory serves.

And then there is the tecumseh curse, not that I would put stock in it, except that every President since 1840 elected on a zero year has not finished, except Reagan. Not that I take it seriously, but it is a hell of a coincidence.

Of course there is the story, mostly bogus, posted by a DU'er earlier in the day that hinted at something major, perhaps the Special Forces attempting an arrest of Dicky in Asutralia... I went, nah, good for fantasy, or as background for the novel being plotted... and this reporter has a good track record, NOT... but Dick catching mortar fire and all other irregular stuff that has happened during this trip is making me go... hmmm....

17. Well, there was the guy who tried to kamikaze the Clinton White House.
"Nobody could imagine flying planes into buildings" said Kindasleazy.

Sort of a loner type attempt, lacking the opportunity for peer review and collaboration, and it missed Clinton by several hundred miles, but an attempt.

15. Supposedly the Taliban is saying Cheney was the target

Maj. William Mitchell said it did not appear the explosion was intended as a threat to the vice president.

"He wasn't near the site of the explosion," Mitchell said. "He was safely within the base at the time of the explosion."

However, a purported Taliban spokesman, Qari Yousef Ahmadi, said Cheney was the target of the attack.

"We knew that Dick Cheney would be staying inside the base," Ahmadi told The Associated Press by telephone. "The attacker was trying to reach Cheney."

Me thinks the timing is all a bit too convienent :tinfoilhat:

US Military Attempt Arrest of Vice President Cheney, 3 Reported Dead

By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers

Russian FSB sources are reporting today that an attempt by Special Forces Troops of the United States Military to arrest the American Vice President Cheney shortly after boarding his official plane in Australia has resulted in at least 3 dead and an unknown number of wounded.

These reports state that the United States Air Force, which is in control of the American Vice Presidents plane, sent an ‘urgent’ flash message shortly after takeoff from Sydney, Australia alerting their US Pacific Command Forces through the United States Worldwide Military Command and Control System (WWMCCS) network, and which is monitored by Russian Military Forces, of the deaths aboard the plane and requesting ‘orders’.

At the sealed off Sydney airport where the attempt by US Military Forces to arrest the American Vice President occurred the Australian media is reporting:

"Mr Cheney's Boeing 757 was delayed temporarily at Sydney Airport this morning for an unknown reason. As it stood still, revving its engines to make its initial advance towards the runway, it suddenly powered down.

The main door opened and the mobile stairwell then immediately returned to the plane, but it was waved off by security personnel.

The plane then proceeded to the runway and took off, en route to the United States."

US media reports are stating that there was a generator problem on the Vice President’s plane and that it was making a planned fueling stop in Singapore, but which the American White House is denying was diverted.

21. I always assumed
that at some point, maybe 2004 SELECTION, that Bush would be rolled down the street in a Giant STEEL Ball, like a HabiTrail hamster ball.. big steel girders on the outside, Rivets, 18 inch thick portholes so he can smirk at everyone.. :)

Then if someone would just SEAL IT UP, we'd be fine :)

(And to any SS guys out there, this is a JOKE - I DO NOT have a Giant Steel HabiTrail Ball in my garage, nor the money to build one) :)
