FISA - A gut feeling (or fact?)
Edited on Fri Mar-14-08 12:40 PM by DaveTheWave
Despite all the circumstances involved in Gov. Spitzer's case, I think FISA was and will continue to be used primarily against political opponents and their large financial contributors than actual terrorists. The majority of it's supporters are in the republican party so it's obvious who the targets would be and to the few on our side who keep enabling them for fear of being called "weak on the nation's security" just remember, they got access to your bank and phone records too.

Again, this is not so much about the governor and what he did, no comment on that, it's who he was and how he was caught when you and I know there's hundred's of people in power doing the same thing even at this very moment perhaps.

2. When you listen to the real experts and not the politicians
Edited on Fri Mar-14-08 01:08 PM by DaveTheWave
The real terrorists and drug dealers who move and launder money in the tens of millions laugh at these laws, know what they are and how to avoid them. Laundering $10k some dumb-ass might get caught but you can bet your ass that a person laundering $10 million is a lot smarter and knows all the laws and traps. $10k is chump change to those type of guys and probably what they pay a cop, banker or politician to look the other way.
