Madison, the Constitution and slavery |
|
James Madison, called the "father of the Constitution" was the fourth president of the USA.He wrote the Bill of Rights and pressed hard to get it accepted. There was a show on CBS this morning about him and the restoration of his beautiful home Montpelier. But on his huge estate there is a large slave graveyard. The man who championed freedom and the rights of man, denied those rights to his slaves. I relate this in light of the dust-up over Pastor Wright. Discrimination isn't over yet.

and oddly we are still straight. I worry much more about McCain selling his soul to have Hagee and Parsley say a good word about him. In that case McCain is basically a prostitute and willing to do what they want for a price.
