Alan Keyes Leaving GOP?

Dispatches From The Culture Wars
Posted on: March 15, 2008 9:23 AM,
by Ed Brayton

Alan Keyes is considering leaving the Republican party and declaring himself a candidate for president for the openly theocratic and horribly misnamed Constitution Party.

John Lofton says he's gonna do it, and he apparently held a conference call with his supporters - both of them - and asked them to pray about the decision. Those involved in the call think this is all but imminent. I just hope he stays in the public eye. No one brings the crazy quite so amusingly as Alan Keyes.

- Pray for Alan Keyes??? Talk about wasted words. Hell, I'd sooner cut out my tongue.

But with Huckabee now gone, what will the Repukes do for comic relief???

1. That would be so great if he did get into the race.

He would offset the Nader factor, and bring the nostalgia for Obama's '04 Senate race. He's the total package.

3. There is no Nader factor
Nader got 0.3% of the vote in 2004, he will be lucky to get that this year.

6. Nadar factor???
I thought you had to have at least one full percentage point in a poll to be considered a "factor."

11. Thanks.
Check out the forum. Occassionaly we get the odd Christian (as in numbers, they're all odd in my book), to wander in and try to convince us to change our evil ways. And then it really gets lively.
