Saw something I hadn't seen in quite sometime yesterday...Twice!
As I was leaving the grocery store, I noticed a car being pushed up to the gas station, by several guys.

On my way home (from the same grocery store) I saw yet another car being pushed up to a local gas station.

AND later that same day, while getting into my car, some guy with a gas can asked if he could have a couple of bucks for gas.

It's beginning.

My advice to all you out there, get locking gas caps for your cars.

2. For a while here, maybe it was a month ago or so, I noticed
signs at the pumps of several gas stations requiring pre-pay....when I asked about the signs I was told there were many drive offs. So, yes, I would agree that "It's beginning." sad.

3. I wouldn't advise locking gas caps. The last time around, a lot
of people with locking gas caps had their gas tanks punctured!

5. funny locking gas cap story...
when my wife and i had our jetta and commuted to work together, sometimes i would get the gas, and sometimes she would. a couple of times, when she got out to pump the gas, she complained that she couldn't open the door to the compartment that holds the gas cap- so i got out of the car, went around to the back, and opened it without any problem, which irritated her no end. this happened several times.
then- one time when i was getting gas myself, i got out of the car, and locked the doors as i was going inside to pre-pay...when i came back to the car, i went to open the gas cap compartment, and couldn't...it turns out that there was a feature that locked the gas compartment when the car doors were locked- the times my wife tried to open it, i was in the driver seat, with the window down, and the door locked so that the lock knob wouldn't be sticking up and jabbing me in the arm when i had my arm on the window ledge. when my wife couldn't open the gas compartment, it was because my door was locked- when i got out of the car to check the compartment that she couldn't open, i unlocked my door- and with it the gas compartment unlocked as well.
like i said- when i discovered this, i was alone at the gas station...i didn't have to tell the wife what was happening when she couldn't open the compartment- and i chuckled to myself about it(she had gotten PRETTY upset by it the times that it happened)...BUT- when i got home, i did the right thing and explained it to her, and she got a laugh out of it too.

6. I got into my car this morning
and drove my daughter to school, I didn't even look at my gas gage, I filled up last night, someone had siphoned my gas. Thankfully, they left me enough to get to town to get more.
