Check out those nasty - and false - captions.

Anybody got enough time and talent to make up something similar about McCain? I'd be glad to send it around.

11. Actually, Snopes debunks those racist captions
All my experiences with Snopes have been positive. In early march, I received a RW e-mail that attempted to portray Barack Obama as having lied at a speech in Selma, Alabama, last year. I sent a copy of the e-mail to Snopes, and two days later, this thrashing of the letter appeared on their website:

2. As disgusting as that is
I would hate for anyone to do anything similar to McCain. No one deserves that type of stuff said about their family. I hope our side never stoops that low.

13. I don't think Obama will allow himself to be Swift-Boated.
It's one of the many reasons I support him.

4. How strange that this displays as a big green "yuck" face...
...but when I open the pic in a new window it shows a pic of Barack & Family(?) I haven't read the spopes article yet, but "Washeteria?" Doesn't sound very credible...

7. its typical
The right wing uses it and it goes something like this

Spread the email
then you notice right wingers talking about it at work
right wingers say "an email going around shows....." even if its not true damage is done
then people like me end up explaining but it doesnt matter
reasonable people dont fall for it
but its a base building thing

12. The green face is there because the picture is hotlinked
Read the article which debunks the captions, including "Washeteria". It sounds like something a rightwinger would dream up.

17. Click on the link to go to Snopes, then hit reload.

That should get you the real photo - you're just seeing Snopes' anti-image-leeching tactics.

Shame on you, OP for image leeching! At least Snopes just gives you a green yuck face - I've seen far, far, far worse images delivered to image leechers.

And having read the Snopes article, Snopes does properly debunk the image caption, saying the picture is real, but the caption describing people in the image as in jail or crack whores or such was complete bullshit.

5. "I have brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, uncles & cousins..."
"...of every race and every hue, scattered across three continents."

Anything to destroy these noble & hopeful words.

15. I sent them an e-mail and asked them to remove it. I said there were
many right wing radicals who did not or could not read, therefore the photo should be removed because of its inaccuracy..
