I'm going to renew this again. as a dean supporter from the get go, and a believer in the 50 state strategy, I feel that this campaign has proven one thing.
this party is bigger than 2 people.
we need leaders who understand the importance of getting out there and talking to people in utah. in texas. in missouri. in iowa. in indiana. in maine. in new hampshire. in south carolina.
we need a leader who realizes a vision that is rooted in the belief that we are not separated by color, by religion, by gender. we are separated by the haves and have nots. the people who go to work in the coal mine in rural america everyday are being screwed as badly as the people going to work in the corner mart in the slums of our inner city
who have a notion that education is an investment in this country and that corporate votes aren't as important as the american people's vote. someone who doesn't believe the center of power in this country lies not in the beltway, but in the heartland.
I know, some john edwards supporters have mentioned his name for AG. I respectfully disagree
I also have had my own problems with john edwards in the past. I was wrong and can admit that. this campaign season he not only impressed me, he was someone I would have gladly cast a vote for in the general election. and like my candidate, joe biden, I felt john edwards got a raw deal from the media.
therefore, when howard dean steps down as DNC chairman, I feel john edwards would be the best choice to replace him. he has proven himself a tough campaigner and a true blue democrat who understand the importance of we, the grassroots of this party, and will go out and talk to people who might want to vote democratic but have never had someone come talk to them.
john edwards proved he could do that and I think despite the constant bickering here, we need to look to other parts of this season which are important to our future as a party. our senate campaigns. our house rep campaigns. our local campaigns. and most importantly, someone who will work to continue to build us competitively in all 50 states when the esteemed howard dean, who has fought so hard for all of us, steps down.
john edwards for DNC chairman.
