Victim of car crash shoots Good Samaritan

MARIONVILLE, Mo. | Authorities say a Good Samaritan was shot and killed Friday when he tried to help drivers involved in an accident in southwest Missouri.

The apparent gunman was shot to death by police.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said a two-vehicle crash occurred on a highway on the edge of Marionville.

One man stopped to help the drivers involved in the accident, but one of the drivers reportedly got out of the vehicle with a shotgun and fatally shot the man who had stopped to help.

That driver then shot at a Marionville police officer. The officer returned fire, fatally shooting the suspect. The officer was taken to a Springfield hospital.

Police had not released the victims’ names.

8. You can't really afford to be Good Samaritan these days.
Too many assholes carrying guns around makes it very unsafe.

9. Do you have evidence of many good samaritans being shot?
I have only heard of 1 or 2 in the last year.
