Do you know the first thought I had when Bush introduced the Silver Star winner was?

Maybe it is because I am so jaded...who knows?
But when Bush introduced the Silver Star winner last night, my only thought that I had was how much he and his party made the Silver Star irrelevant by desecrating the one that John Kerry won. I felt bad for this soldier and thought how meaningless his medal would become if he chose to run for public office as a Democrat.
When we honor our heroes with these medals, the honor should last a lifetime. They shouldn't be smeared in political campaigns decades after they sacrificed their lives.
These Republicans talk about supporting the troops...but they only do so when it is politically convenient.
