Has Al Gore been successfully swiftboated?

I just did a search over at google news. Almost about every headline was negative towards Gore. I know that they will give Gore's side of the story if you read the articles, but the headlines look very damaging That's what most people will remember.

He should point out the connections to the AEI and their bribing of scientists to say global warming doesn't exist.

Not only defend himself, but attack those who smeared him.

21. I did not mean for this to be a harsh post against Gore. I meant for it to be a

harsh post against the press for reporting this tripe and making sensational headlines that are negative towards Gore. I also meant for it to be harsh against people who just read those headlines without looking further to discover that they are misleading at best.

As I said in the original post, Google News showed that just about every headline was slanted against Gore. Regular people are going to skim over those headlines and that's what they'll remember. Gore does need to respond with more than just a bland statement from his spokesperson.

If Al Gore announces he's running for President a month or two or several months from now people aren't going to say "Hey that's the guy who has a high electric bill." Their attention spans simply aren't that long.

If the GOP decides to bring that issue back up, I'm sure Gore will have a defense ready seeing as he will be actually running for something.

No matter how much people will bitch and complain, and believe me I am bitching and complain with the best from far left field, Al Gore was the one who brought it into our homes that we had to get off our butts and do something.

It really doesn't matter how much electricity Al uses because the other 299,999,998 of us that DON'T live in that house have to get off our asses and make the changes ourselves. To the extent that this little stumble makes that clear the rest of us owe Al an even greater debt.

Some of the eco-nerds have been hanging over in environment/energy squabbling among ourselves like three cats in the bottom of a well. This little fracas has got many of you to think in a real way what environmental change might look like. Normally we don't get as much attention as the kitty picture threads in the lounge.

Thanks Al for the movie and your weird way of dealing with the climate. It really helps.

11. Ed Schulz helped the swiftboating

He had the head of the so-called "think tank" and let him spew lies about having information from the power company. Never questioned him on that, never asked why the outrage when Gore isn't running-only question asked was did they support minimum wage (they didn't)-and then no argument. The man treated them with kid gloves and more respect than he gives to many progressive callers. Then yesterday he still didn't even refute the claims--spent his time talking about fat kids--a serious issue, but not as serious as global warming, and not political. I'm gonna start streaming someone else at his time slot, I think.
