(Church formerly attended by Bush Sr.) - Ex-Church Official Guilty in Child Porn Case |

The former music director of a church where former President Bush (Bush Sr.) once worshipped pleaded guilty on Monday to possessing child pornography.
Robert F. Tate, 64, of Greenwich, admitted possessing between 150 and 300 pornographic images of children, some engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Prosecutors said some children in the images were younger than 12 years old.
"Yes, your honor. I regret to say I did it," Tate told a federal judge.
Court records accuse Tate of possessing digital images of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct and refer to "apparent foreign travel for purpose of photographing children."http://www.crimelibrary.com/news/ap/0107/2305_guilty_child_porn.html:puke:

1. And, the best part ... |

Tate oversaw the church's renowned choir programs, including those involving children. Tate traveled with the choir for performances around the country and in Europe.

There was a story on our local news here tonight about an assistant principal at one of Anchorage's Christian schools who was arrested for a whole computer full of child pornography, mostly consisting of adults molesting three- to six-year-olds. What is it with these so-called "Christians"? I just don't get it.
This fool was even dumb enough to take his laptop into a computer store for repairs with all that trash on it, which is how he was caught. Unbelievable.

Though, there are some good "churches" so I don't dismiss them outright.
What's that old saying "where there is prey, there are predators" or some such thing? It seems to me that children in churches are quite vulnerable and people are too trusting of others just because they happen to attend the same church.
