Quick! Take a look before it's gone! Right wing site Consevapedia--Patriot Act edited entry!
Edited on Thu Mar-01-07 02:03 PM by Whoa_Nelly
Bet this disappears/is edited soon! :rofl:

My son pointed me to this entry today. Apperently, someone did a GREAT! (Left wing) job on editing re: Patriot Act, because, as written right now, it is all very true :)

http://www.conservapedia.com/Patriot_act

Patriot act
The Patriot Act (formally, the `Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT ACT) Act of 2001') was an act passed by the Republican congress following the 2001 attacks on World Trade Center. It removed a certain number of liberties from American citizens, including such things as the right of habeas corpus and the requirement for a search warrent, since of course freedom might be used by terrorists against America, and hence freedom is the enemy of security.
Long ago patriots said things like "Give me liberty, or give me death", but today we say "take away my liberties, that's ok, patriotism means security not liberty."

28. Try sourcewatch.com
http://www.sourcewatch.com

I like ours better. Daily Kos also has one. There's probably more.

All of these use a common Wiki software. Hell, there's even a Star Wars version (Wookiepedia) and one devoted to progressive talk radio (Thom Hartmann spearheads it, via liberaltalkradio.com.

2. Oh, lordy
I went to their index page. Under World History they have a category Ancient History (Creation-500 AD).

The link (loads slowly as does the rest of the site for me) and brings me to a page which lists terms used and then begins ancient history at 3500 BC.

Age of Metal

From Conservapedia

3500 B.C. began with copper tools, then 2500 B.C. superior bronze tools, then 1200 B.C. superior iron tools.

I don't think I need to say much more, do I?

20. Reads like a first-grade book report, doesn't it?
Ancient History
From Conservapedia
Jump to: navigation, search

Ancient History is all that happened from the beginning of time until AD 600. Ancient history created civilization and achieved many of the greatest intellectual breakthroughs of all time. Literature, drama, mathematics, philosophy, and language are just a few things which we are indebted to the ancients for.

9. Look at the dinosaur entry...
Edited on Thu Mar-01-07 02:40 PM by krispos42
http://www.conservapedia.com/Dinosaur

Most scientists believe that dinosaurs lived from 230 million until 65 million years ago and that they are all currently extinct (except for birds, which many scientists consider to be descended from early therapod dinosaurs). They claim the fossil evidence supports their beliefs. However, there are a number of lines of evidence that point to dinosaurs and man coexisting. <2> <3> For example, trained scientists have reported seeing a live dinosaur. <4>

29. ROFL!
:spray:

I was thinking they thought "Jurassic Park" was a documentary. Then again, I don't think these loons much care for anything coming out of evil librul Hollywood.

They do cite a few sources for 'proof' of man and dinosaur co-existing. Some obscure piece of 2nd century Egyptian art that depicts such. Well, lots of Egyptian art depicts dogs and cats walking upright and acting like people. Should that be included in an article somewhere?

George W Bush .... from Feb 22nd ...

Is the president of the United States of America. Was elected controversially in 2000, and re-elected in 2004.

Some of his successes are:

* Invading Iraq after lying to the world about Iraqi WMD.
* Has killed tens of thousands of innocent people since 2001 and has caused more American deaths than 9/11.
* Totally erased the budget surplus handed to him by the Clinton administration.
* Was elected president by the Supreme Court in 2000 and stole the 2004 election through widespread voter fraud and intimidation.
* Choked on a Pretzl
* Read a book to a class of children...upside down
* Fired Donald Rumsfeld
* Banged Condalizza Rice
* Crashed his car while driving drunk
* Really Really REALLY Likes Cats
* Has 17 nipples
