Two years ago at the State of the Union President Bush decided that people like me really weren't citizens. We should, unlike any other citizen, have the Constitution of the US amended in order to prevent us from marrying people of the same gender. Now, we don't make the cut.
Can a person be more cynical? Incidently it isn't just him. The Rocky Mountain bigots (Musgrave and Allard) also have decided that we are no longer important enough to amend the Constitution. So what could have brought about this change?
Could it be the case of Sue Kelley? Sue Kelley was a Congresswoman from NY until she lost her seat to John Hall. One of the big reasons she lost was Adam Rose, who spent 500k on ads against Ms. Kelley entirely because she voted for the Federal Marriage Amendment. Musgrave herself had a scare winning with less than 50% in a three way race.
The marriage equity issue is slowly turning against the GOP who, cowards that they are, refuse to push it in the face of public opinion. I don't know which is worse, an honest bigot, or these cynical fools.
