Reply: I guess the rapture will not only crash the stockmarket for a day, but it will endure for the time until the havoc of the event itself clears down, and the AC shows up promising peace and prosperity. Remember after 9/11 what happened and it was only a fraction of destruction of what the rapture will leave.

What i wonder is what will they make out of the finantial assets raptured christians will leave behind (no reference intended) ? they will be useful but only temporarily, i think, or we could See the AC aquire them, just like hitler did with Jewish properties during WWII.

crashed big time and world currencies lost their value in the 20's (Germany was first) and 30's.

was due to the crushing financial reparations Germany was forced to pay the Allies under the Versailles treaty (it happened in 1923, well before the 1929 crash).

And the net effect of financial depressions is ultimately DEFLATIONARY, not inflationary...because hoarding and so on lead to there being more goods and services on the market than there is money in circulation to buy them, so prices are driven down and the relative value of the currency goes up. Witness for instance what happened in Japan in the 1990's after their real-estate crash; at one point the Bank of Japan was lending at 1% NEGATIVE INTEREST (actually PAYING institutions to borrow money) to combat deflation.

of the German monetary system or currency. The fact that the collapse was due to the reparations forced on Germany of WWI doesn't change the fact that it did indeed collapse...

In the US, the stock markets crashed on October 29, 1929 (Black Tuesday), but the crash of the banks and currency did not happen until 1932.

I was unaware that the reason the stock markets and currencies crashed had any part to play in the rapturist liturgy...
