John Bolton Urges White House to Not Act 'Limp-Wristed' -- And Hits 'NY Times'

NEW YORK John Bolton, no longer our man at the United Nations, revealed in a C-SPAN interview taped today that he is writing a book about his experiences in recent years. He also took a few shots at The New York Times and challenged the Bush administration with this: "For God's sakes, it needs to stand up and defend itself. No reason to act limp-wristed.

"They should defend their policies and not allow The New York Times to characterize the administration's policy. Get out and speak what's on their minds."

Bolton also charged the Times with "painting the Bush administration into a corner" by claiming it is now pursuing a more pragmatic foreign policy in some areas. Bolton denied this, while reiterating that he disagreed with recent White House moves on North Korea.

He said his book is due in November "so I'm typing as fast as my fingers can go." The book's title, he revealed, is "Surrender Is Not An Option: Defending America at the U.N. and Abroad."
