1. None of those are particularly damning, but...

as things heat up Prince Rudy's record and personality will probably come out.

Like how he fired Bratton as police commissioner when people realized it was Bratton, not Rudy, who revitalized the NYPD-- Rudy cannot abide anyone getting even a little bit of the spotlight he believes belongs only to him. All of his agency heads were under orders to NEVER talk to the press without him present and knew it was Whack-A-Mole if their heads popped up on the public radar.

Like how he absolutely refused any compromise, even when ordered by the courts, and constantly fought with every agency and legislative body he couldn't control. His normal mode of "negotiation" is to attack and destroy the enemy.

Like when he was a US Attorney, his office was more noted for its leaks than its prosecutorial successes.

Like his extraordinarily rotten relations with all the NYC minority communities.

He became the Hero of 9/11 simply because he grabbed the cameras and refused to let the police and fire departments, who did all the work, talk to any press. Even took credit for what the Port Authority Police did-- the Port Authority Police work for the bi-state Port Authority of NY and NJ, and are responsible to the Governors of NY and NJ, but not to the local Mayors.

He is a petty tyrant who is always absolutely, perfectly, in the right and while New Yorkers put up with it for a while, even they were getting sick of the constant fights he started. The rest of the country might like as "strong leader" but they just might find this one to be a little too tough too stomach.

Man, I'd love to see a guy with class, like Obama, take him apart.
