and war apologists wave flags and spout talking points about the war. I've never been the type of person to tell another person to shut up and not express a view. Even when someone is being truly obnoxious, I've found a way to redirect and to comment with tact. I was raised that way. But I no longer cut people that type of slack. I shut them down when they start off on the "no good news" crap, and * is wonderful, and the "they'll be on our streets" crap. With this Walter Reed scandal heaped on top of six years of negligent and abusive behavior by * and his junta, these neocon acolytes can shut the eff up! They have no claim to morality or moral behavior. They can take their dipped-in-religion myopic sanctimonius jingoistic treason AND their two-bit, tinhorn messianic brushwrangler and his hulking demonic cyborg and shove them all where the sun don't shine. Then they can shut the eff up again!!

Thank you for indulging me. I need to say that and it felt good to unload.

Feel free to add to your hearts content.

to all those idiots who yell, "Support the Troops" to us when we're protesting:

It is I, not you, who support the troops. It is your people who send them to war for no good reason, neglect to provide them with adequate armor for their vehicles and house them in rat-infested hospitals upon their return.

I support the troops. I want them home. You treat them as sub-human. That is why they are there in the first place.

On Edit:

You bastards really need to be impeached!

4. Yes and a comment
In 2001 I quit trying to have a dialog with these fools when I told a relative to bugger off with his Fascist, hatefilled ideology. Since then, relationships have been severed with people I've known for over 20 years. I simply cannot abide the brainwashed acceptance of the Fascist and theocratic policies of the Republican party. For over 5 years I have been saying we are headed for a plutocracy/theocracy/fascist government and all events to date certify I'm not wrong.
Of course, we should bring home the troops--they should never have gone in the first place and now we're beating the war drums to bomb Iran. Madness rules this country.
There is no one to save us as the Democrats are demonstrating they are not up to the task because they will not aggressively take on the R's but continue babbling about bi-partisanship. Impeachment is the only answer and it's "off the table." Weep for your abandoned Constitution.

3. I'm done too
There's a freeper in my office and some days he's here with me for 8 hours in tiny quarters. After the first verbal ass-whupping I gave him he laid off for a while. Last week, when I got back from lunch he had another freeper on speakerphone and they tried to double team me. I told him I did not have to justify myself or democratic positions in any way shape or form and told them Bush's blunders in Iraq were making us less safe. He smugly said "name three" and I rattled off about five or six without even stopping to think about it.

He actually suggested I start watching Hannity. I told him he can't argue his way out of a paper bag from watching that idiot so why would I possibly emulate him?

7. Help yourself.
It felt good writing it too--bad syntax and poor punctuation included.

6. this is EXACTLY what is needed
from each and every one of us. Think how differently our country's situation would be now if Gore and Kerry had come out swinging instead of politely ignoring the bambastic lies. Obama was right to immediately counterattack when Fox and the legions of hate-radio labeled him a terrorist (because he attending elementary school for two years in Indonesia). Kerry should have kicked each and every Swiftboat ass. "I went to Viet Nam. I have 12 fellow soldiers on-stage with me. GWB didn't bother to show-up for his Guard training. They didn't serve with me. They're lying whores who earn their living flying around smearing Americans." What could Bush do? Sue him for slander? Not likely. He DIDN'T show up for his Guard training. Take on every person who spouts the lies. Ask, specifically, what Hillary or Bill did that was illegal. What EXACTLY was travelgate? filegate? They won't know. They never do. It's all hate-radio blather with no basis.
Time to call each and every loud-talker on their lying rhetoric, in front of an audience. Make them squirm. They're ill-equipped -- they can only parrot snippets from Hannity.
I totally agree with you. Thank you.

8. My New Way Of Handling Those That Repeat The Bullshit Is To Simply Keep Repeating "Facts Matter".
So much of what they claim is void of any real factual basis. I'm not going to stand there and pretend that their claims carry any legitimacy. If it's just more than me and one other in the conversation or there are others in earshot, I'll simply repeat in a flatly matter of fact tone "No, facts matter. Facts matter. Facts matter". If it's just me and one other having the conversation, then I generally wait till their sentence is done, then point my finger right at their face, look them right in the eyes, and laugh heartily and loudly.

10. A while back, there was a bit of advice going around the "conservatives"
where they told you how to deal with the "pacifist" anti-war people ... "listen politely, and then hit them in the head ..." and then something about how to yell at the "pacifist" for trying to hit back ...

Well, since Bush has legitimized the concept of "pre-emptive self-defense", when you find yourself talking to a rightie ... bash his or her skull in and then claim pre-emptive self-defense ...
