for the weekend. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The jury deciding if former vice presidential aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby lied when questioned about who revealed a CIA analyst's identity on Friday adjourned for the weekend without reaching a verdict.
Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff, has been charged with obstructing and lying to investigators who were seeking to determine who leaked Valerie Plame's identity in 2003 after her husband accused the Bush administration of manipulating intelligence to build its case for the Iraq war.
The panel of seven women and four men left early to attend to personal and work obligations. They have been deliberating for more than 50 hours, since February 21. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x2752989

1. It's looking more and more like there's a ringer on the jury |
|
a neocon loyalist who lied his/her way onto the panel and wouldn't convict even if Libby sprouted horns and a tail.
Or maybe the tinfoil's on too tight again.

I was confident Fitz had a slam dunk case until the jury asked for a new kind of flip chart yesterday. It seems they're working very, very hard to convince someone(s).

3. Nope, there IS something going on. |

There is just no way a reasonable person could have looked at that evidence and not found it compelling -- Fitz did an amazing job of laying out his case, while the Defense essentially didn't even offer one.
This deliberation should have been over in three days max. The fact that it is taking this long is not looking good -- someone (more than one?) is holding out.
