Texas Congresswoman Asks Bush To Restore Military Sales To Venezuela
http://www.venezuelanalysis.com/news.php?newsno=2224

Jackson Lee described Venezuela as a friendly nation that the U.S. should cooperate with and said that the F-16 jets, which are built in Texas, was an issue of concern to her constituents in Houston.

Pledging to "personally go back and raise" the issue, she called for the U.S. Congress "to reconsider sanctions on the F-16s."

The U.S. State Department has banned arms sales to Venezuela, including parts necessary to maintain its fleet of F-16s, citing a lack of support by Chavez's government for counterterrorism efforts and its close relations with Iran and Cuba.

2. Hell, why not throw in Iran and North Korea as well....
in fact, why have any restrictions at all? The world's biggest merchant of death, the United States. It kind of makes you proud to be an American, you know? :sarcasm:

3. I agree that all arms sales are bad
and it would be better to disarm because we are just feeding the machine. However, the USA has no problem selling to COlumbia and Israel even though their governments have been proven corrupt to the core recently, and have been guilty of mass murder or apartheid for years. Can't sell weapons to a country that uses money on people and doesnt tow the oil company line though!
